We should have a bet going on... if OU beats Oregon then 3LT can't post in this topic for the rest of the season. He can think of what would be fair in return.

Nahh, I don't think Oregon winning is an absolute slam dunk.

And I enjoy Sooners folk ascribing posts to me that I haven't even written wayyyy too much to risk that.

If you actually believe the nonsense you keep regurgitating about what you refer to as my "attacks" on Lefty, maybe you should try consulting with the presumed victim of those attacks, Henry.

Instead of making wild assumptions based on my friendly banter with the UO fan, why not just ask LEFTY if he believes he's been attacked by me. If he answers in the affirmative, I promise that from this day forward I will never again post TO Lefty, nor will I reply to another post FROM Lefty.

"Attacked" is a severe verb.... but definitely seems you saw something written by someone else perhaps and seemed to think I wrote it

I think it's pretty slam-dunk'ish. I only give us about a 20% chance to win

But weren't you the one who said they had no chance against Wichita State and their conspiring/rube coach?

Why do you assume what I write is specifically about you, scrybe..?
If my post was aimed at you, and only you... then I would have called you out by name.

You need to notice that your name was not specifically mentioned.

Yup and we would have easily lost had they not switched pitchers and the hitting not woken up.
We still stand no chance against Oregon. Just too good.

LOL! We both know who you were addressing, Henry. You started your "attack" (yes, I can play that game too) immediately after I responded to Lefty's post that I believed was critical of Patty Gasso for her game management style.

If I mischaracterized Lefty's post, I apologize (do you hear that, Lefty?). But there was no attack intended. My response was like a pat on the back compared to some of the zingers that have been tossed at me on this board.

I thought it seemed like he was subtly digging at PG while praising his own coach as well. *shrugs*

I wonder how badly each of the two coaches and their teams want to win Thursday. Who has more at stake?

Remember, an oklahoma loss guarantees an at least 18 point drop in WP.... and oregon starts floating from the top-seed dock with two more losses this year, I believe

The WP drop outweighs the gain in OWP, right? But the drop is mitigated somewhat, right?

It MAY be a net gain... but it IS easier to lose 18 points in WP than gain 18 in OWP and oowp at this point.

Where is gonegolfin or cjs??? LOL

I think the thing that puzzles me is that RPI doesn't distinguish between a loss to Oregon or Oklahoma and a loss to, say, Baylor. Your WP goes down the same for both. But those would be distinctly different losses in terms of a team's merit. Also, as others have noted, it doesn't distinguish between home and road losses.

And that is where 75 percent of the grade on OWP and oowp delineates between baylor and oregon for oklahoma

I'm expecting a really good game, perhaps one worthy of the WCWS. A game that carries no shame for the loser. Should be pretty tight.

Scrybe - I am re-posting that post by me (post #840) directly below.

------------------------------------------------------------

<<
And yes Henry I wonder sometimes if you and 3leftturns are brothers or the same poster. I never seen someone try and cover for a jack hole like you do for him. He’s a big boy. >> (MOJO)

<< I am sure he does not need any help from me.
But... I do find it tiresome to see some of you Oklahoma fans try and attack him for things he didn't even say.
You know Oklahoma is a great team. Why do you let anything he writes bother you..? >> (me)

------------------------------------------------------------

That post wasn't even in response to a post from you. It was in response to a post from MOJO.
There have been some Oklahoma posters on this forum who tend to get upset when 3LT posts on an Oklahoma thread...
and some times their responses to him - are a bit over the top, in my view.
Believe me... you are not the only one who has occasionally over reacted (again, in my view) to a post of his.

When I see people dumping on someone... for no good reason, I will generally defend that someone (whether or not they are an Oklahoma fan).

In the end... it is not a big deal.
I'm sure 3LT will get by fine... so go ahead and have at him - if that is what you* really want to spend time posting about.

*The line above is directed at any Oklahoma fans who seem to be upset by 3LT's posts, not you specifically, scrybe.

Maybe she'll have a monster game on Thursday!

Mendes is a mystery. She's been OK, but not spectacular. Haven't really seen her drive the ball consistently. Maybe being moved all around the batting order has been a factor, maybe other teams learning how to pitch her, all of the above. I think she should be bunting for hits at least once a game to pull the corners in. Lots of talent and a tremendous athlete.

The comment above from nstinson... HAS to be seen as tongue in cheek.  Inarguable among the sane.

I am expecting a good close game as well.
But... even if one team comes away with a big win (say 7-0)...
I still believe both teams will make it back to the WCWS...
and if they meet there - it will be a WAY more important win.

Basically, I'm saying if either team has an easy win... don't get a big head about it.
Their next meeting (if it happens) will be the much more important game.
