If the rumors I've heard are anywhere true, I'd love for Lowary to leave him a voicemail asking him how it feels to take it like that.

I'm not trying to sleight OU at all, they are very, very good, but I'm not sure the best team won. I do think the best coach did (again, not trying to sleight Coach Walton).

I thought Patty did a masterful job and her kids rose to and exceeded the level needed for the championship.

Well played, very well coached. Congrats to both teams. What a great WCWS and not a single tornado in the state for the d-bag northball to fear the entire week.

This team loses one starter. One. The left fielder. Watch out Big 12 and the rest of college softball... They are gonna 3-peat.

OU just proved they are, and have been the best team in college for the last 2 yrs. People talking about SEC and how OU would finish "top quarter" of the conference is laughable. OU would blow through that conference with 1 or 2 losses tops. They just swept the 2 best teams the SEC has to offer AU and UF 4-0. Gasso is building a Saban-like dynasty at OU. Other coaches and softball people know this, because all these young studs that everyone wants, are all going to Norman. Knighten (best softball player in country) Mendes (stud), Parker, Romero, Aviu, Clifton, Pendley, and Flamethrower 75mph Lowary will make that short drive to HOF Stadium again next yr, with the home crowd behind them, and 3peat. I knew Fla didn't have a chance when they couldn't get the lead before the Big flamethrower lefty came in. Even Walton knew it when he said during the interview that they needed to score some runs before the Sooners put in that big lefty. That is a defeated attitude. Those girls have never seen speed like that in the SEC, and her change is downright nasty. This soph class could leave OU as 4-time champions, they are halfway there, and will be considered the greatest class in history.

We record swings, pitcher grips, player tendencies, everything. It's called preparing your team to win. Watch OU sometime. When the pitch is signaled in, the pitcher and catcher aren't the only players that know whats called; the whole team does. These ballplayers are coached by the best in the business. Hell, even Walton and his top asst. learned under Gasso. I even see him coming back to OU when 4natty Patty retires. Its the premier program for softball, and having the WCWS in your own backyard is helping attract all this talent too.

What's even the point of this post? If judgements on who the best team is in a matchup were relevant, there wouldn't be need for a game at all. You can't say that you're not trying to sleight a team and then just go ahead and sleight them anyways. That's silly.

Congrats to Oklahoma and thanks for repping them Big 12 well. See you in Waco next year!

Who the F is we.
The whole team has wristbands, groundbreaking......nobody does that.
The best in the busines? Ok. She almost coached herself out of game 1. Thankfully the players rose above it.
Carry on homer....don't be such a douche and you may have a life here

Almost coached herself out of last yrs championship in game 2 by resting Parker, almost coached herself out of game 1 this yr....results are back to back championships. You can live on almosts, I will take results, and results prove she is the best coach in the business. You are probably one of those that thought OU was really a 10 seed. That was only done to try and make it harder to reach OKC for OU. Maybe next yr they'll put OU as a 16 seed so they can go thru Gainesville Fla, to make the 15 mile trek to OKC. I bet Walton would like that about as much as Auburn did this yr.

When exactly do you see PG retiring? TW won't be too far behind her. So why uproot for a 5-7 yr stink?

I think Patty coaches 3 more yrs. She came in 95, and that would give her 25 yrs at OU, with at least 4 NC's. She just turned 55 last month, and TW graduated OU in 96 so he is only 43 or 44. I'm not sure about him coming back because UF is such a good job. OU should be favored to win the next 2 championships, and that kind of dynasty may be enough to bring him back to OU for his last 10-15 yrs or so.

1St Congrats to OU. But you Mr new poster are a dick. No need to spew your chit on us. The true Gator fans have done nothing but congratulate OK and acknowledge that they were the best team. To say we never seen speed like PL is an idiotic statement cause no one has. And she did blow the save in game 1 and we did hit her. OK was just the better overall team. No need to salt the wound.

Posted like a true homer douche bag.  And I will bet you whatever amount that you want that OU doesn't 3 peat next year.  Softball is cyclical and OU's cycle is fading fast.  They barely made it out of their own regional this year.  Shay Knighten is a good player but to label her as the GOAT is laughable.  Teams in the SEC hit the crap out of Paige Lowery when she was at Missouri so don't act like she is untouchable.  OU won this year and congrats to them. I just hope that you don't delete your account next year when OU doesn't even sniff the WCWS and lets see if you can take it like you are dishing it out right now.

Very similar to some of last year's reactions, yet here we are again. Fading fast? They lose one senior, have another year of championship experience and and pick up ?????? Lowary plus coaching yields a different result....surely you heard TW 's mid-game comment about needing to score more runs before she came in. 2017 could have turned out like Florida's 2016, but it didn't, they found a way. Next year is next year, both of these teams will be very good again.

Congrats to OU!  They really have a special class with Knighten, Romero, and Pendley.  The Monday night game was probably the best softball game that I have ever watched.

Knighten GOAT?? Naw. But...she is good. I don't see OU's cycle fading THAT fast. Pretty decent crop of incoming freshman next year. Congrats to teams in the SEC belting out hits on Lowary. Of course, putting a pitcher back in the circle after what she went thru at MIZZOU is almost criminal, IMHO. I would add "never say never" to your battery of thinking, saying OU won't sniff the WCWS next year. Nobody knows, really what will happen at any given time in any given game with any given situation. Hell, ND State may be there.

Funny how I never see anyone shut down all of the Gator homers that have been talking smack all postseason.

Get rekt.

"Lowary plus coaching yields a different result.."

Yeah exactly, Lombardi is as good a pitching coach as Rocha is and Lowary is flourishing with new life under Gasso and Lombardi, which is all the proof that young lady needs.  I am super happy that Lowary has found her joy again!

Tim Walton will never even sniff the concession stand at Marita Hynes Field at OU as long as Melyssa Lombardi is there and wants the HC position when Gasso leaves. Don't be ridiculous.

Lmao. You're a clown. Fading fast? Lmao they're only going to be better next year with more top rated recruits coming in. OU owns the SEC the last two years. Look at their record against your fraud conference.

I apologize for my douchebag posts and comments last night. I was pumped and felt a lot of redemption from hearing comments since last Thurs. First it was OU was lucky to be there, and would be out by Saturday night. Then it was they will lose 2 on Sunday. Then it was OU got homer calls and would be swept playing the #1 seed. They were just an afterthought coming in because of their seed. I seen a lot of SEC and Pac12 fans that were giving no credit at all to OU this weekend.
Also, I am not calling Knighten the GOAT, but I am calling her the best in college softball this year. She gets Big12 POY, and shows her place against the best teams this weekend. She did it last year too. One other thing about Paige Lowery. She is a totally different pitcher than what she was at Missouri. She has better coaching, better nutrition requirements, and a better strength program. She will tell this to anyone who asks.
Again I apologize for comments last night. I will refrain from being a dickhead homer douchebag for my duration here.

You saw them using it during the game??  Or you saw the clip on tv of them watching Ocasio on a cell phone prior to the game?

The reason they don't allow electronic devices in the dugout is because the Power 5 schools complained when a new rule allowing them 2 years was implemented.  They need to allow them.  If P5 schools are skirting a rule they were unhappy about, it needs to be brought to light.  Having electronic devices would be a big help to mid-majors who don't have 20 people on their support staff.
