What a difference a day can make.

Houston pitched very well yesterday -- I don't think it was only OU hitters not adjusting, etc.

Fact is, you win it all one year, and the next year you get everyone's best game, every pitcher's best performance. Don't know that the Sooners fully understood that coming into the first two weekends. On the positive side, the core of OU's order was finding the range as time went on. Need more from 6-9.

On to MNC ...

OU has 9 wins with only 1 win over a ranked team and getting taken to extra innings by Houston twice. OU has lost 4 times, to Auburn, Washington, Tennessee, and unranked Notre Dame.

If OU was evaluated base solely on their results so far this season, they should not be ranked in the top 15.

Ahhhh, don't rile stuff up with the Sooners. We are having our own issues.

And you morons got run ruled twice by ULL. OU had the same record through this many games last year. OU will get on a streak and then they won't be stopped by anyone. Winning another NC. I'm not worried about losses in February.

Oh, I can't help it. And yes I know, but the whole softball world did not crown us as untouchable in the preseason.

Fun fact to share: FSU alum and 2014 POY Lacey Waldrop is part of the Sooners coaching staff this season. Must be a GA or voluntary position.

This will be a familiar refrain for the Sooners this season: A win is a win.

Maybe it was a weird Wednesday thing; Bama also limped by in its game against Valpo, 1-0.

Sooners win 11th in a row, fourth run-rule win of the weekend, knocking off UIC 8-0 on a 45-degree day in Norman.

Looking forward to Tuesday's matchup with Arizona in Long Beach.

It will definitely be a test for Arizona.  No doubt about the quality of Oklahoma.

Actually 1janiedough, Arizona won the last match two years ago at the Mary Nutter in February, 2015.  I went back and found an article that said the score was 5-4.  Floyd pitched until the 5th, leaving with a 4-0 lead.  Oklahoma came back against the next two pitchers to tie it 4-4 going into the 7th.  Floyd returned to pitch against Chamberlain, the soon to be all time home run leader, and Pendley, who left Arizona. With Floyd holding them scoreless in the top of the 7th Fox hit the walk off for Arizona.  Floyd was the designated game winner.

I bet the fireworks will be out Tuesday.

Oh yeah I remember that, I guess I should have said "when it counts" we have not beaten the Sooners in a long ass time!  All I really remember is seeing the Sooners being the regionals gauntlet!

Two good teams.  I don't know that either is at their best right now.  May meet down the road when it counts.

If this is the best these teams have to offer. I'm not worried about OU winning back to back.

Paige Parker is the great equalizer. She was outstanding against a very good Arizona lineup. The defense uncharacteristically let her down at the end, but she proved again she's a big-game pitcher. JMO, but I think OU would be even money against anyone in a SR, home or away, because of Parker -- backed up by Lowary and freshman Mariah Lopez, who no-hit Long Beach in the Sooners' second game Tuesday.

OU has five one-run losses, and while a loss is a loss, those five are a little deceptive. Not saying the victors in those games weren't deserving -- just that all of those games were nail-biters that could've gone the other way. They didn't, and OU needs to be near-perfect from here on out to land a top 8 seed.

Today's game against Arizona was big-girl softball. At some point games like this are going to break OU's way.

Oklahoma softball has the same feel to me as the Duke men's basketball team this year as both were clear cut favorites to win it all preseason ...

I have no idea if either will win it all but I sure hope that at least Duke does not!!

Oklahoma has such a deep advantage over other teams if they get a Top 8 seed, that they can never be discounted

It was very important for the roles to be reversed for Az today, loading the bases in bottom 7 with Perez up...that kind of pressure, when you just put the ball in play, makes things happen.  Az needed that evidence today.

Parker was outstanding today, and Az very much lacks number 2 and 3 stud pitchers.  McQuillin should have mowed LBSU over, but they hit her pretty good right off the bat.  I'm really pulling for her to up her game before her junior season starts next year!
