I have a stand alone policy for my college graduated kid. This January the premium doubled for a healthy 22 yr old.

30% is super optimistic, and assumes CSR payments are as expected.  It is going to be more like 40% bump in prices.   Even with CSR payments in place.  Even at those rates, you will still have additional markets have no carriers and many more going to only 1 carrier.

Single payor, no cost control here we come.

The Obama IRS lied to us??? Say it aint so.........

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2017/aug/3/obamas-irs-misled-obamacare-customers-audit/

The Obama administration “misled” Americans into thinking signing up for Obamacare would be cheaper than it really was, according to an inspector general’s report Thursday that said the IRS dramatically understated the actual cost of enrolling.

IRS officials sent the letters to try to prod Americans to comply with the 2010 health law’s “individual mandate” that penalizes them for not holding coverage.

But as part of the letters, the IRS said most people could find plans for $75 a month or less once government subsidies were figured in.

That was untrue — in fact, the average cost was more than twice that figure, at $168 a month, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration said.

“Many of the nearly 7.5 million taxpayers who receive letters and seek insurance may feel misled if the actual cost of their insurance is much higher than the $75 per month detailed in their notification letter,” the inspector general concluded.

The IRS said it was only using numbers provided by Department of Health and Human Services and verified by the Treasury Department. They said the $75 figure was true for some taxpayers.

One of the main reasons he left - he knew OCare was going to devolve into this. Didn't have the "chest" to stick around.

I could be wrong, as I'm not nearly as savvy on the intricacies of this mess as some other posters on here. But I think this is what uwA has been warning of for the last few months.

"New York’s largest hospital network is quitting the insurance market — another victim of ObamaCare.

Northwell Health, formerly North Shore-LIJ Health System, is closing its CareConnect Insurance unit because it looks like a permanent money-loser, says CEO Michael J. Dowling. He blames ObamaCare “regulatory flaws that have destabilized insurance markets” and the feds’ “refusal to honor promises of additional funding.”

The “flaws” include rules that forced the company to pay more than 40 percent of its insurance revenues into a “risk adjustment pool” to bail out other insurers.

Half of CareConnect’s 126,000 customers are covered via employers in the small-group (100 employees or less) market; the rest are split between the large-group and individual markets. They’ll have a year to get new insurance, though many won’t find policies as good.

You can blame Republicans in Congress for cutting the taxpayer subsidies that Democrats had promised, but that amount was smaller than what the Democrats were forcing it to pay to other insurers with their ObamaCare rule.

ObamaCare only works with massive taxpayer subsidies not just for people buying exchange policies, but also to insurers — and that’s just to maintain pre-Obama enrollment levels. (The net gains in coverage under the law come from Medicaid expansion.)

The whole house of cards is barely holding together, but the left, led by Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, wants to “fix” it by imposing single-payer healthcare — which would require vastly more federal spending."

Had Kasich won the republican nomination, we wouldn't have half the problems we have now. Bipartisan health care is the answer. Trump's self serving hatred of all things connected with Obama has set the timetable back months, maybe years. With an earnest bipartisan attempt to fix the ACA, we will all be better off. Thanks Governor Kasich for putting America first, not your narcissistic self image.

Had Obama not been elected through lies and fooling dumb Americans, we wouldn't have the problem at all.

Not at all - he gave enough free stuff away that he would have beaten God Himself.   Thankfully we have a constitution.

It's pretty salty to hear you keep saying that though - even better than "Hillary won the popular vote"

Exactly half as much as Trump gripes your ass.  Been enjoying a ton of saltiness lately.

You notice I never called it a news source, I called it a link in the post I made and never edited that post.  Fresh jumped to the conclusion like he always does that it was a news source.  He needs to invest in a dictionary because he has a hard time with deductive reasoning, reading comprehension and jumping to conclusions.  He did admit he likes to stir the pot, I'll give him that

You quoted it.....whatever it is. I asked a question. Trying to find 1 source you people trust besides a guy in a car that repeated what some lady told him. I know it's hard to reach that level of certainty, but it could provide a starting point.

So we have a reliable news source acceptable to you rightys?

You saw the video I posted of protesters sitting in class before going to protest at the Trump Rally in Springfield, correct?  You saw the pictures of protesters unloading from busses in Chicago, correct?  It is a common tactic by the Democrats to 'organize' their protestors.

Nothing wrong with the practice.  It is just looks like the manufactured scene is not as believable as normal Trump rallies, where people show up on their own to show support for their candidate.

Probably a reasonable explanation for why you are losing so many elections, yet don't undrestand how/why.

Don't trust doctored, voice over videos from unknown sources. There are people that do that for a living. Has to be a reliable source. Like Maxine Waters.

I hope McCain takes his lumps all year.

I have no doubt the what the reaction by extreme right posters (85% or more of this forum) will be to the posts in other threads about Trump's horrendous words and actions yesterday. You all will act like the comments by me and Fresh are leftist BS and the ramblings of the coastal elites that is out of touch with "real Americans" blah blah.

So ... since the GOP has is again going to fail in its lust to repeal Obamacare - I thought this thread would be a good place to give you guys a good dose of reality. Below is the reality of what real Americans currently think of Obamacare, and the various sorry healthcare bills proposed by the GOP. Enjoy.
