Unemployment rate over 8% for almost his whole term.

More African Americans out of work than when Obama took office.

More women out of work since Obama took office.

More Hispanics out of work since he took office.

More people living in poverty than when he took office.

More people receiving food stamps than when Obama took office.

Gas prices doubled and have stayed at a high price for most of his term.

Health insurance more costly.

Scandal after scandal in Obama’s administration. GSA’s wild Vegas parties. Solyndra loans, Fast & Furious to name a few.

Obama’s administration did nothing as our Ambassador is murdered by Islamic terrorists.

Obama’s big government ideas have not worked in helping the economy or the middle class.

His Fed chairman printing more money, devaluing the dollar, making food and energy more costly.

$6 Trillion of new National debt.

23 Million Americans out of work.

A disastrous Energy policy.

Obama’s foreign policy is one of weakness and appeasement.

Four years of blaming others.

Obama has failed as President. It’s time for a change.

Gasoline today is lower than July of 2008.  However, too many variables involved to fairly determine a President's responsibility in pricing that will rise and fall during every year.

Dewey, do you just keep recycling your posts so that I have to go back and find where I debunked them?

Btw, haven't seen you post on the Libya fiasco, are you following O's lead and avoiding it?

people unemployed people has not decreased.
unemployment payment has decrease as you can only collect max. 99 weeks of unemployment. thus it does not mean that those unemployed people  have found a job.
but people do not blame our president as in reality he is not the one that rules this country, specially the economy.
check the detail of revenue and see that oil companies and armemant co.  CEOs are making more money than before. so do manufacturing companies.
why do you think that nowdays all the things you wear or use are made out of this country. even our cars are mostly assembled in Mexico. WHY ??????
the  only positive thing that has been done is forcing the Japonese car companies to assemble their cars here, mostly in Ohio. if you want to answer me do your research first.

Hammer,

The President may not rule the economy, but he and Congress impact it. Taking $6T out of the private sector through taxation, borrowing or printing dollars impacts the economy.

The dilemma:

Take capital out of the private sector to give to social programs and the military casuing stagnation in the economy. But this doesn’t solve the long term issue of how to pay for all the social programs.

            Or

Let the private sector keep the money and fuel the economy, creating more wealth for a majority of citizens, but causng short term issues for social programs.

They President/Congress can’t do both as there is limited capital to use.

ForeverInBlue - I figured the same response applies to the same thread being started over and over each day.  Saves me time.  With regards to your other post, you said the blame game was no fun.  In any event, it's a non-issue in my mind.  Who knows if these sources are accurate?  Who knows if there may have been reasons to hold back some of our intelligence?  I see nothing.

Obamas policies are killing our country.  The only good thing he can say is the seals killed Osama.  But his foreign policy allowed Ambassador Stevens and three others on 9/11 anniversary to be killed and have allowed extremists to take over Egypt and the middle east.  But whats new.  Hillarys secretary is connected with MB and Obama has meetings withMB in white house but cant meet with Netanyahu.

Dewey has said many times oil production has increased.  Thanks to private production.  Oil production is down 18% on federal property since 2008.

Conditions are worse than he inherited.  He truly has been the worst president ever.  He should have been impeached long time ago for breakings laws and the constitution.  Thats where the repubs have no leadership and backbone.

He got caught on this one and got his hand slapped.  Think he will stop abusing his power?  Nah, he will do as much breaking the constitution as he thinks he can get away with.

WOW.  There should be a letter writing campaign by school children to ask the POTUS to please follow the Constitution of these United States.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/jan/25/federal-court-obama-broke-law-recess-appointments/

Quote:

But Noel Francisco, a lawyer at Jones Day who argued the case for the company that challenged the NLRB appointments, said the court had returned to the Constitution’s intent, which was to make the recess appointment an emergency power for use only when Congress was not available.

“Issues like this — it’s not about protecting the Congress from the president and the president from Congress,” Mr. Francisco said. “The Constitution draws these lines ultimately to limit the government to protect the people.”

In their ruling the judges said their duty is not to speed up the workings of government, but to hold to constitutional principles.

Dang that constitution thingy, and that dang separation of powers. How are socialist Elitists ever to gain supreme power over the ignorant masses, and rule over the lessor animals??? Dang that Constitution. We must abolish it, as it stands in the way of the more equal animals.

woody - You personally called me out in another thread and asked for my comment.  I'm still here but I'm losing interest because these are not political discussions.  I enjoy the politics of ideology and debating what's in our Country's best interests.  I do not enjoy conversations with those who talk of taking up arms, boarding up their families, and preparing for an assault on a Government they think has gone awry.  This is a little beyond where I want to go.  Secession, tyranny, and things of this order I'll leave to the minority on your side to kick around.  I get a little uncomfortable there.

Needless to say, those willing to take the law into their own hands because they personally believe something is unconstitutional, while ignoring a decision of our nine Supreme Court justices, are the ones I think are truly dismissing our Constitution.  The threats of revolt, should we do x or y in this Country, regardless if it passes a Supreme Court challenge, brushes aside the Constitution far more than anything this President has done.  If we can't utilize the steps spelled out in the Constitution to settle law, then where are we?

While I'm here, I've been wanting to share another thought.  Watched Bill Maher the other night and I am reminded of the many of you who hate him, particularly for the way he attacks and ridicules religious beliefs.  Many of you have voiced your hate for this man and I can understand how somebody who makes fun of the beliefs of others, can upset people who hold those beliefs.  I can't disagree with you and I don't think it's necessary to make fun of what others believe.  He could just explain how he disagrees but, since he is paid for his controversy, a more flamboyant nature is required.  That said, many of you inside here engage in making fun of Progressive beliefs as if it's your second nature.  Is this somehow different than what Mr. Maher does?  Now for me personally, as long as you are general in your critique and don't directly call me an idiot, uncaring, someone trying to make people dependent on the Government, or a campaigner for taking away the right to bear arms, then I don't generally care if you carry on this way or not.  I get it how we have people who enjoy making fun of what others believe.  What I don't understand is how trashing the political beliefs of others in general is any worse than trashing the religious beliefs of those in general.  What some of you do inside here is identical to that TV host you so despise except, in here, it's much more than once a week.  At least in my opinion.  Now I have a two year old celebration I'm excited to attend.  Until later.

So you still have nothing to add to the discussion about the POTUS violating the constitution?  Don't wait for dewey to come up with a spin, I want to hear yours.  Why are you so angry?

I beg to differ, I think our constitution being shredded by our POTUS is definitely a political discussion

I do know that those 3 Federal judges, who voted unanimously by the way, know the constitution and they say obama broke it.  Don't make this about me, talk about your leader and how he has the people's best interest at heart.  laughable  You think he will have the chutzpah to appeal to the Supreme Court?

Interesting how Obama alludes to Lincoln... Selectively...

I believe that every individual is naturally entitled to do as he pleases with himself and the fruits of his labor. - Lincoln

Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself. - Lincoln

One of these men is *nothing* like the other.

I agree with you, Mr. Chairman, that the working men are the basis of all governments, for the plain reason that they are the most numerous, and as you added that those were the sentiments of the gentlemen present, representing not only the working class, but citizens of other callings than those of the mechanic, I am happy to concur with you in these sentiments, not only of the native born citizens, but also of the Germans and foreigners from other countries. Mr. Chairman, I hold that while man exists, it is his duty to improve not only his own condition, but to assist in ameliorating mankind; and therefore, without entering upon the details of the question, I will simply say, that I am for those means which will give the greatest good to the greatest number.

I thank you, in common with all others, who have thought fit, by their votes, to indorse the Republican cause. I rejoice with you in the success which has, so far, attended that cause. Yet in all our rejoicing let us neither express, nor cherish, any harsh feeling towards any citizen who, by his vote, has differed with us. Let us at all times remember that all American citizens are brothers of a common country, and should dwell together in the bonds of fraternal feeling.

Fair enough, give me two or three examples of the Constitution being shredded and we'll talk about it.  In any event, you can't shred the Constitution because it has the last say.  But I'm still all ears.

PS:  While I'm waiting to hear your examples, let me give you some real examples of abuse.  If you can't win the popular vote in Virginia during the Presidential election, you simply change the rules so you can take part of the electoral votes in the next election.  Rules?  What rules, we make the rules the way we want the rules.

Here is an unconstitutional move by President Obama. This is an example Dewey. A federal Court says he acted unconstitutionally.

woody - This is the decision that's on the table now that we've been discussing.  kiir is suggesting this President has shredded the Constitution, (sounds like a metaphor for consistent abuse), and I'm asking for two or three other examples to support this theory.  Your side still believes Obamacare and the limitation of various weapons for citizen use are unconstitutional so I might respectfully suggest your side may be less than qualified to make these calls.

PS:  Time will tell if this decision is appealed but here's one the last President tried to get through until the SC put a stop to it.  Not everything in law is black and white.  It happens.  You can find many examples of President Bush being overturned by an Appeals Court for trying to circumvent the Clean Air Act or the Energy Policy and Conservation Act.  Like I said, it happens.

President Obama uses executive orders whenever possible to circumvent Congress. He is doing like other Presidents that came before him, to bypass the legislative branch. The over the top attack on gun ownership will be the undoing of the House Democratic Party. The President may wish he could repeal the 2nd amendment, and there are those in the legislative, and judicial branches that wish it also, but it cannot be done by executive order, and survive judicial challenges. Much like the HCB, the administration went all out, denying the bill was a tax. When the judicial branch said it was legal as a tax, they suddenly changed their tune. Hook, or crook, the Obama administration avoids legislation when not feasible, and instead issues executive orders, and does it's battles in a courtroom, instead of in the House. Pretty telling lack of leadership, in that the President cannot even get his own Democrats to support his budget proposals in the Senate.

woody - I'm not sure what your point is but I'm glad you don't get to make the final decision just as I'm sure you're glad I don't.  Thankfully, we have a Constitution that settles our disagreements and if anyone is reaching beyond their limits, there are avenues out there to stop them.  I edited my last post to note several times President Bush tried to alter our laws only to be stopped in his tracks.  I don't think we need to apply a negative connotation to every step a President takes that gets shut down.  I do wish water-boarding could have been Constitutionally tested but I understand the consequences of a potential penalty placed on President Bush and/or VP may have tested this Country beyond what any of us may have been prepared for, including me.

I take issue with the title of this thread.  Given that Obama has been re-elected, we need to hold judgment.  Certainly, my opinion is that Obama is taking us in completely the wrong direction but the worst is yet to come and we can't yet know the extent of his failure.  Sadly, we'll have to wait until we're on the verge of Greece in 2016 before we declare that Obama has indeed failed.
