Does anyone remember 4 or 5 years ago when just about every NPF game was available on demand through MLB.tv?  Fast forward and now I can only do that for Chicago Bandits home games through High School Cube (and the dozen or so that air on ESPN3, sadly I don't have CBS Sports so I'll miss them).  Does anyone know why that partnership with MLB went away?

Its frustrating that the barrier to entry for doing this is so low a number of local high schools are able to produce and distribute on demand game video (for example through WIAA.TV), but a professional sports league can only manage to do that for home games for one team.  I'd be happy to pay for a streaming package or even game DVD's, but there is no way for me to help.

I don't mean to disparage the NPF as I enjoy their players and the level of competition immensely, I'm just a bit disappointed that there is less content available today than there was 5 years ago.  It is nice to be able to see some games on ESPN3 and I know that plus the CBS Sports broadcasts help build awareness and carry higher production values than I'd get off a video on demand stream, but its still annoying to miss so many games.  Its worst with the non-ace pitchers since its quite possible you may never actually see them throw because their game isn't available on demand.

Aren't more games on TV now?  I know that my DVR records at least 4 or so per week.  With more on TV streaming becomes less important.

There are over 100 scheduled NPF games this season, but the TV coverage as announced amounts to just 26 (8 on ESPN and 18 on CBS Sports).   In other words you're missing way more games than you're seeing on TV.

Also, not all of us are willing to shell out for cable TV and frankly I'd rather pay $50 a month to the NPF for video on demand than $50 a month to a cable company.

I see there's a game recording on my HTPC right now.  Although I'm not likely to watch it and it will probably get deleted.
