Diamonds & Pride on ESPN3 right now:

http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index/_/channel/espn3#

Katie Burkhart & Cat Osterman pitching.  Fun to see these great pitchers again.

And they're playing on a REAL softball field!!

Another NPF game at 4 pm ET & the USA v Canada game is at 7 pm ET (also on ESPN TV).

I try to watch EVERY GAME. A lot of people say " oh we'll there are only 4 teams in the league, and only 2of them are good" my response is... Do you watch the game of softball merely to see a team get crushed, or do you watch for the love of the game?? It's very fun to watch! Fridaythere was a walk off single in the bottom of the 9th by the Carolina diamonds over the Akron racers. Today Carolina trailed 2-3 entering the bottom of the 7th. After a single to lead-off the inning, and then a flyout. Bianca meija came to bat, she came from long island university, and she hit another walk off for the diamonds. This one a HR. since Carolina and the racers are tied for worst in the NPF with a 5-10 record, I could have easily watched the Chicago bandits (12-3) and the USSSA Pride (8-7) duke it out. But it's because the love of the game I watch!

Fully agree RTR! I love watching the NPF games! They are always exciting! Although I am first and foremost a Pride fan there are players and reasons to root for all 4 teams! I'm excited about the future of the NPF!

I like the pride because or Charolette and Kelly, but my favorite team is Carolina. I really don't know why, but they are looking good right now.

Charlotte and Kelly are great! I have 4 main reasons I like the Pride and you can probably guess what they are lol. Danielle Lawire, Jenn Salling, Nikia Williams, and Ashley Charters lol! There are reasons I like the Pride as well but those 4 ladies are the main reason! I like the Diamonds as well! I really like Bianca Mejia and I am a huge Caitlin Lever fan!

What happened to Theresa "pill pusher" Wilson and her staff?

Pill Pusher? I know she has been absent lately, bu I can't find anywhere where it talks about it. I don't think they would have fired her, it's too early in season. I don't think she would have resigned, again too early. Either way, w/o her the diamonds are 3-0

He is referencing the issue at Washington that got her fired as a head coach. I didn't even realize she was gone. That makes me sad! I don't agree with what happened at Washington but I'll always have respect for her and was really hoping this would work out for her.

Just read onFacebook that she was fired. Seems a little a early for firing, but nonetheless the new coach is 3-0

She did bring 3 different schools to the WCWS. Carolina expected her to turn the worst team in the league last year into the best team in only 10 games.

Some people will never be able to respect her no matter what she does for a team on the field because of what happened at Washington. She is a great coach and it's a shame that for whatever reason things didn't work out for her in Carolina! Honestly for a long time I didn't respect her but I had a conversation with someone who knows her as well as read more about what happened and I found a new respect for her. I wish her all the best!

Especially since your a Huskie, you should like her no matter what. She started your program. UW probably wouldn't be we're they are today without coach Wilson starting itoff in the right direction.

I will always respect her and she will always hold a special place in my heart because she did start this great program and you're right without her this program wouldn't be what it is. But that scandal really hurt the program and could have easily destroyed a big chunk of what she worked so hard to build. I don't know how much she knew about what was going on  but I have no doubt she knew some and what happened was wrong, it will always be wrong in my eyes. Thankfully Coach Tarr nagged the committee who was put in charge of looking for a new head coach and got an interview. She has done a great job of carrying on the great tradition of this program and I have to say that without her as well this program wouldn't be where it is. I think Teresa Wilson is a great coach and she will always have my respect, but sadly no one(myself included) will forget the things that happened while she was the head coach at Washington. She did alot of good for that program but she hurt that very same program and some of the girls who played under her as well and that's just not something people get over, over night.

No disrespect to your favorite Canadian, but Caitlin Lever is my second (or third) favorite Canadian (despite not actually being Canadian-born) ... right behind Jen Yee and possibly tied or slightly ahead of Caira.

My favorite Canadian would be either Danielle Lawrie or Jenn Salling(can't choose lol) followed very closely by Victoria Hayward and then probably Caitlin Lever. I also consider myself a huge fan of Jenna Caria and Jen Yee.

I could've guessed #1 easily, and probably would've guessed #2 as well.

Well frankly it wasn't pretty game but the Pride did pull out the 1-0 win. Offense for the Pride continues to asleep at the wheel. Charlotte Morgan in one of the biggest slumps I've ever seen her in. She struck out twice tonight before being pulled for Kristyn Sandberg who hit the game winning RBI double! I have fully enjoyed watching her this season so far! She has meshed very well with the Pride girls and her bat has been key! She is about the only with a hot bat right now though.

Big night for Brittany Mack! At the end of the game her All-American banner was unveiled and her long time boyfriend Josh, proposed to her, she of course said yes lol!

DL is struggling mightily the last couple games.. pulled in the 2nd against Carolina after giving up 7 quick runs
maybe she'd rather be pitching against the likes of Puerto Rico and New Zealand

I don't know if you've noticed but you'd be hard pressed to find anybody on this team who isn't struggling. This team is a mess right now. Pauly came in for Danielle and didn't get a single out before being pulled for Jamee Juarez who finally got them out of the inning and didn't give up anything in the top of the 3rd. Pitching will come around and Danielle will be fine but the defense and the offense continue to be a joke.

were all 7 runs unearned?  didn't sound like it.  hard to defend 2 sharp singles and a 3-run homer.  how about the myriad of runs against Chicago?  all unearned as well?  Didn't the Pride score 7 runs in that game?  shouldn't that be enough?

6 of the starters for the Pride are former National Team Members..including herself.  hard to imagine their defense being that poor.

i hope she bounces back.. the Pride need her to pitch well.  her ERA is now well over 5..hopefully that goes down

speaking of struggling.. why Torina keeps trotting CM out to first base is a mystery.  there has to be someone on that team that can play 1B
and hit over .080..

Where did I defend her? She is struggling right now no doubt. I never said she wasn't. But she started off the season hot and I have no doubt she'll bounce back. I was talking in general as a whole this team is struggling. They are looking at losing their 5th of the last 6 games. The defense had 8 errors last series and 3 last night. Been a little better in this game but the defense has not been good. Offense has been shut down for 6 games in a row now. It's been a very frustrating few games for the Pride.

i wasn't saying you were defending her.. i was referring to your comment on poor defense.  i was saying it's hard for the defense to defend homeruns...sorry for the confusion

not a pretty 1st game today for sure.  maybe the newly engaged Mack can get them back on track.

1-7 against Chicago
9-2 against Carolina and Akron

It looks like Torina has been playing Morgan at 1B and hitting Sandberg for her. Weird. I would have Sandberg on the field and give the DH spot to someone producing - Bruder maybe.

Morgan went out to warm up to pitch(yeah that's when things are bad for the Pride lol! Nothing against Morgan they just have almost never used her as a pitcher) and Sandberg took over for her at 1st. She continued to hit for her after Morgan came back in at 1st. Morgan's bat has been ice cold. This game she's not playing at all. Callahan is playing 1st. Pride already down 2-0.

I wasn't really talking about the defense in the game earlier, just in general. Wasn't much the defense could do about aggressive hitters and poor pitching. But the defense has been an issue in the past and they already have an error this game.

ETA: Game is now in a weather delay
