For those who haven't heard the NPF is adding a new team for 2018, the Aussie Spirit, in cooperation with Softball Australia.
I have kind of mixed feelings here because I didn't watch any of the games last season with the Chinese team because 1) they weren't competitive and 2) I have no attachment or interest in their players. So all this does is create more games this year that I have no interest in and that can't be a good thing. So, I guess technically they have 6 teams, but in practice only 4 teams that stand any chance of winning anything. http://profastpitch.com/news/news/?article_id=2978

Australia will use games for practice just like China. Australia will be more competitive and will win some games but will be rotating players through as most have jobs or commitments. Another typical NPF cluster
