Neither is going to happen any time soon

85% of NFL revenue is sponsors and broadcasting worldwide.
Marketing is next.
General public icket sales are a small percent of the profits to the owners.
Not going to games hurts the regular people that work the games (concessions, parking, etc) as players have guaranteed contracts and corporations buy up luxury boxes which pay more than all the general admission seats do for whole season. Then realize there is revenue sharing.
NFL survived strikes, wars, disasters and free streaming of games. It will survive blacks not watching because kaepernick didn't play and conservatives mad because of kneeling (which stopped before thanksgiving and league cut a deal with the activist players).

Half the people attending could stop and it would just cut into profits. If owners were worried about perception of stadiums they could give the seats away. And greenbay list for tickets is still backlogged 20 years. Seats paid for even if empty.

Pro softball has a fraction of a percent of NFL revenue yet survives so how would NFL bankrupt when bills for every team are paid for by sponsor revenue and attendance, and merchandise just adds to owner profits. And people aren't going to stop drinking beer, stop coke and pepsi, stop pizza and chips, stop facebook and twitter, stop using iphones and LG and other phones, stop using at&t and sprint, stop driving ford and chevy, etc. as protests. Plus the protests stopped.NFL will be fine. Also note that because of gay rights women soccer, softball, and other teams and players have knelt. We are on a forum for a sport that is gay friendly and see all sides on these issues as do I as a black republican veteran.

The on field protest (political demonstrations) will stop when the last national anthem of the season is over and the super bowl halftime entertainment is done hating on America. Lets see if during the off season owners meetings if lower projected ad revenues will translate into lower salary caps. Then you will see some real protesting, wailing, and  gnashing of teeth. I wonder if the NFL will select an entertainer that is less likely to go into full I hate Trump's America protest mode during halftime.

Timberlake better keep it clean, if he wants his new album to sell.  Just entertain and stay away from politics but if he chooses he can sell to the coasts.  Veterans are looking no matter how much fhoenix wants to deny it

Everyone in my family has turned off the NFL except for watching the home team. All of them, even the Liberal ones have had enough of the BS protest shtick, and the constant disrespect to our nation and it's flag. The NBA, and NCAA college football should send the NFL a thank you card.

The NFL and sports in general are suffering more from over saturation and diminishing marginal utility than player protest.

I disagree. The NBA, and college football ratings are going strong. The NFL went PC and screwed themselves.

Please list these non “queer friendly” programs.

I doubt you will become you know of none, but I’ll take a shot anyway.

Durden, you constantly show your agenda...........

Your politically-correct attempt at relevancy doesn't work with me...........You present a side - and I'll present the other side.............

That works for me..........In my world, you're not relevant.........

So you know of none - would have been easier to just type that.

What's easy is to see how folks like you who support the queer-friendly programs and try to discourage folks like me who don't...........

That was easy-to-say.........I work with kids whose parents don't want their kids around a queer-friendly program...........Most don't in fact.........

So you don’t know of any. Easier just to say that.

Don’t care who you support.

Both players also choose ONE of their games and predicts the total points scored in that game (as a tie breaker).

If still tied after the tie-breaker the home team (ForeverInBlue) wins.

ForeverInBlue
Titans at Chiefs
Bills at Jaguars

TheNarrator
Falcons at Rams
Panthers at Saints

Chiefs
Jags - hate this game. would like Bills to win, and watched Jags later in season, they won but looked terrible doing it.

Tie break: Bills v Jags 41 points (which is probably 20 too high, lol)

Rams
Saints

Saints/Panthers - 50

SUPERBOWL

bhblue (NFC)
vs
TheNarrator (AFC)

NFC
Falcons at Eagles
Saints at Vikings

AFC
Titans at Patriots
Jaguars at Steelers

You are picking the winner of the 2 games for the conference listed by your name.
If you are NFC pick the winner of the 2 NFC games and predict the total points for one of the games (tiebreaker).
If you are AFC pick the winner of the 2 AFC games and predict the total points for one of the games (tiebreaker).

Case is living in an alternate universe right now. He went from practice squad to active roster with the Texans then was released. Got picked up by the Rams as a backup, then went back down to the Practice squad. Resigned by Texans, Resigned by the Rams, then signed by Minnesota. I was just praying the guy would get the NFL retirement check. God had other plans.

Congrats to The Narrator. What a wild way for the competition to end!

The Super Bowl would be a home game for the Vikings. That would break some NFL decibel records. OTOH, I don’t think actual fans get very many Super Bowl tickets.

So true FIB, Case's play and that goof up by the Saint defender gave Narrator the win and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory for bhblue and the Saints. I admit rooting for the Saints because they had the best chance to beat the Iggles, we'll see

I’ll take the win, but it’s hard to feel good about it after that play.

Ouch.

Congrats, Narrator. I didn't think I had a chance after Saturday. The Jags gave me hope but, as they often do, the Saints let me and their fans down. Very much like the Oilers did here every year.

Also interesting, the line was widely at 5 1/2 points.

When the Vikings didn’t kick the extra point, they gave Saints backers a consolation win. Craziness!
