Gopher coach must have listened to me, as Brandt and Smith (great to see her back) combined on a three hit shutout, and Fiser got some rest.  7-0 Gophers (4th straight shutout).  Lindaman was moved to leadoff and hit her 18th homer of the season to begin the game.

MN has a midweek makeup DH v. NDSU and then a weekend series v. Penn St.  Glad to see that they cancelled a game v. South Dakota. Despite the poor schedule I think they have a chance to stay in the top 25 of the RPI given that other teams in the 20-30 range struggled this weekend.

I'm glad that they gave Fiser a break. Brandt looked significantly better than Smith to me. I hope they give her some more innings over the next week to prep for the tourney. Minnesota is a team that looks scary to face right now. It's unfortunate they struggled a little bit at the beginning of the season because if they had won 4-5 more of those games, I think they'd actually have a good chance at hosting. Their SOS and RPI are both great.

Gophers swept a DH from NDSU 3-0 and 6-1. Almost six straight shutouts. Fiser threw a one hitter in the first game, Brandt and Smith pitched the second.

NDSU was #56 in RPI with a 27-15 record. No idea if this sweep helps or hurts the Gophers regarding RPI rankings.

Gophers gave up a run in the 7th and a run in the 8th, and inexplicably lost at home to Penn State 2-1.  Did not see that one coming.

Gophers winning today 14-0 in the second inning. That embarrassing, humbling loss yesterday was the best thing that could have happened to this team.

Definitely helps. First off WP goes from .6957 to .7083. OWP moves from .5758 to .5788, OOWP decreases from .5509 to .5495. So base RPI goes from .5995 to .6038. Adjustments don't change so adj RPI goes from .6091 to .6134.
