So their fall schedule pretty much mirrors their spring schedule.

(I decided to beat you guys to the punch.  I know someone would have made this joke!)  [smile]

Their non-conference schedule looks a little better in 2018.  They've got Fl State, Notre Dame, ULL, Auburn, UCLA, ASU, Arizona, & Oklahoma State.  I'd expect them to win the B1G again and hopefully host a regional.

Obviously playing the ACC/Big Ten for the first two.... what are the settings for the rest of that? That sked would have gotten them a top 8 seed last year

Michigan might have some say in the B10 this year.

This sets up to be the worst BigTen season top to bottom that I can remember. Is Wisconsin the favorite?

Ha! Seriously, how does it look for the Gophers in the post-Sara G. era? I feel a little sorry for Iowa State, losing their coach, who I think had the Cyclones headed in the right direction. More power to Minny, though.

On paper they should be better than last year.  Deeper roster.  Much faster.  Heart of the lineup all returning.  Added catching depth.  But factor in the loss of Sara G. and a new head coach... no idea.  Smith (LSU transfer) is a seasoned vet who will add stability to the pitching staff.  Fiser had a strong season in the circle last year.  But no idea what to expect from the two freshmen pitchers (Lowary and Bailey).  Despite the changes I think they would have to be considered the favorite to win the BIG.  Wisconsin lost Chloe Miller, heart and soul of the team.  Michigan lost Betsa and does not have MN's lineup. I don't know.  Too bad MN and Michigan don't play each other.

I agree they look very good on paper.  IMO Trachsel is a better HC and Smith & Fiser together will make up for the loss of Sara G.   I expect the Gophers to roll through the B1G, host a regional, and make it to the WCWS.

THAT is a bold statement.  Time will tell if you are right, but needless to say I didn't expect anyone to state that Trachsel > Allister.

No bolder than the rest of statements in that post   [smile]

Allister is a great coach.  I've just been more impressed with Trachsel.
