Is there any credible information on why Steele was let go/stepped down from Marshall?

Rumor has it she was in over head. One and done. Totally quit on team and school.

I heard some very concerning things about the way she handled the team and then she had a complete breakdown. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more transfers coming out of Marshall.

I don't know fact from fiction on this, but from the outside, the whole situation looks really weird. Only at Marshall 1 year, school announces in a pretty terse statement that she's not coming back (while she's out of the country, I believe), then over a month later she ends up at another school. Not exactly the normal job-hopping fact pattern you usually see.

The truth of the story is she quit on her team and school. Yes, in over her head. Yes, had many questionable decisions from the staff hired to treatment of SAs. Basically did not do her job. The school should be upset. That's why they wanted HER to pay her buyout clause. Surely UD didn't. She talked the talk, but couldn't back it up. Her players saw it and felt it daily. UD passed on quality coaches wanting the chance to turn their program around. Their hire doesn't have that capability. They will stay in their free-fall.

I gave her 3-4 years at Marshall. I knew it wasn't going to work. The hiring committees really need to investigate and do background checks on their hires. Marshall asked for it when they hired her.

Bonus points for being a previous head coach (especially female), regardless of if you were terrible there and your players hated you, bonus points for being an alumna, and bonus points for being a previous player that you can easily sell to the higher up administrators and the boosters. That is why people like this lady and shelly hoerner keep getting jobs even though they appear to be horrible coaches. I know a few of the other candidates interested in the job, that would have been infinitely better, and didn't even get a call. Rinse and repeat.

She did a good job recruiting and being an assistant at Longwood, Mabel she should have stayed in that role

It had to be really bad at Marshall. I can't imagine what story she told the Delaware people on why it didn't work out. Does anyone have any specifics on the actions at Marshall?
