Don't know about the full schedule but the Cajun schedule does list games/times.

Yes, out of that minor-league splinterfest.

Their baseball field has a warning track, so it isn't some deeply held local belief by head-suckers

What is a typical schedule for the Lousiana Classics tourney that UL hosts?  Do they schedule one game against each team that is there (7 total teams so that would be 6 games)?  Do they match the specific teams against each other and play more than one game? Just curious what to expect.  Hoping the Gophers and UL play more than once.

Maybe a tough year for the Cajuns. Depends on pitching and career ending injuries from opponents crashing into The Donald Trump Memorial Wall.

Depends on the tournament. In past years we've had as few as four team which usually means you're playing at least one team twice. This years tournaments have five and six teams other than the Cajuns so I'm assuming the Cajuns would be playing one team each game at this point but it's always possible that they would play one team twice and not play one of the teams as well. I'm guessing they don't have the actual schedules in stone at this point but if I see one come out with time/date info I'm be sure to pass it on.

The Ragin' Cajuns are my second favorite team behind yOU know who. You guys are getting a player in Alissa Dalton (she's still there, isn't she?).

There's a lot to like about your team, your coach and your fans.  Good luck in 2018.

Daughter's team will start out the season again in Lafayette, and we can't wait!!...this is her senior year, and they also started there her freshman year in 2015...It ranks at the top of our list for "Fun Softball Trips" throughout the years....the fans, community, and atmosphere are second to none, and this year being Mardi Gras weekend will make it even more of a treat.

As always, we seem to have added a few new restaurants to the area, some being local and some franchised. Let me know if we can provide any local info to make your trip more enjoyable.

One of the best places for college softball - great stadium, great team but most of all some of the nicest, most welcoming people you will ever meet. We loved our trip to Lafayette and hope to go again sometime soon.

Love that area. Nothing I like more that going head-to-head with the DD on 3 pounds of crawfish with the zydeco filling up the ears and some Purple Haze.

Just one easy fix needs to be made in that stadium. Good enough for their baseball team, should be good enough for softball

Craighton needs a medic if she tries this one at home

I do not follow the Cajuns very closely...
Just wondering - how often has an outfielder collided with that wall over the last ten years or so.
And how many injuries have happened because of it (and have there actually been any career ending injuries)..?

That would be a few times and I'm not aware of any career ending injuries in the history of the park associated with the fence. I'm actually not aware of any injuries at all.

Pitching a test, true. The wooden wall, could be the end of the world. Depending on whether you believe Lefty or Revelations.

You can have a padded wall OR you can have a warning track.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/or

OR, you can have neither and show a blatant disregard for the health of the 40 Ragin' Cajun women and the 20 kids on the other team.

Each is a tip-money-level expense.

I understand they have installed a warning track

http://www.wavsource.com/snds_2017-09-17_1751672946049674/tv/lost_in_space/warning2.wav

As for the padding, the AD stated "Padding, we don't need no stinking padding"

Sorry, I should have noted that my understanding is the coaches are very happy Alissa will be a Ragin Cajun for the next three years.

No surprise here, Amos.  I believe Alissa is a star in the making – and I wouldn't be surprised if the "making" begins this upcoming season.

Alissa may not have been emotionally prepared for big-time college softball in her freshman season at OU.  But I'm guessing she's more mature now, and if so, it's Katy bar the door.  I'll be watching the Cajuns and pulling for Alissa and her new teammates (unless, of course, they happen to play against my Sooners).
