Lions Celebrate Centennial in 2012 Rose Parade® The centennial celebration went global on January 2 in front of an international audience. The widely acclaimed float was funded through private donations and support. Viewed by an audience of 40 million in the U.S. and televised in 217 international territories, LMU's participation in the Rose Parade marked a cornerstone event in our yearlong celebration. It isn't the first time the university has participated in the event either -- the Loyola University Band appeared in the 1938 Rose Parade.
