The NPF regular season ended with Kelly Kretschman hitting exactly .500 (58 hits in 116 AB). This was the first time any player had hit .500 in the pro fast pitch league. She also led the NPF in OBP (.623), SLG (.793), OPS (1.416), Hits (58), 2B (12) and EBH (20).

Lauren Chamberlain faded down the stretch, but finished second in EBH with 18.
Shelby Pendley led the NPF with 13 HR (10 being the next best).

Monica Abbott's 213 strikeouts were 99 more than the next best pitcher (at 114). Third best was 93 and fourth best was 72. Abbott's 17 wins were 6 more than the second best (at 11). Monica also had 6 shutouts while the entire league had just 19 (her 6 plus 13 others).

The NPF season ending tournament begins Thursday.

Yeah... Ted Williams would have never sat out that last game!
Ted famously played a double header the last day of the 1941 season and went something like 4 for 6 to raise his BA from .400 to the .406 number that remains the last time a ML player hit .400 for a season.

I meant to add this when I first posted - but forgot.
A comparison of Kelly Kretschman's NPF leading percentages to the second best in the league...

BA - .500 - next best .379 (121 points better)
OBP - .623 - next best .475 (148 points better)
SLG - .793 - next best .619 (174 points better)
OPS - 1.416 - next best 1.026 (390 points better)

Kretschman has a 1.416 OPS and only two other NPF batters made it above the 1.000 mark.
