It seems so. Kati goes yard twice off Nelson in game 1 of today's DH vs. the Beavs.

10 this season, 77 Career.

Now 3rd on Wildcat's Career Home Run list. Just passed Dalton with 76 career dingers (grad. 1995).

The 3 to beat for career homers are

1. Chambers with 87 (grad. 2011)
2. (tie) with 85
     Laura Espinoza-Watson (grad. 1995)
     Leah Braatz (grad. 1998)

Thought it was 35 or 37. No, Espinoza (now Espinoza-Watson) still has single season record.

Mauga hits number 13 of the season off Kayla Detmer in B2 of game 1 vs Stanford. That's 80 in her career.

3-run dinger for Kati in B1 of game 3 vs. Stanford, off of C. Lee in the circle. That's 15 on the season, 82 career.

2-run dinger for Kati in B3 of game 3 vs. Stanford (again), off of C. Lee in the circle. That's 16 on the season, 83 career.

Two more to tie Espinoza and Braatz and for second most career homers at Arizona.

Three more to take sole second and bump Espinoza and Braatz into a tie for third.

Four more to tie Chambers.

Can she hit five more?

What's interesting is how Harper, Palomino, Mauga and now Mercado are all feeding off each other.  It's definitely contagious.  It's like those freshman are just pushing everyone to reach for the sky.  Literally!  And Carranco leading the team in Pac12 batting average after starting miserably!

I've seen her hit bombs that were 6 inches of the ground in front of the plate and 6 inches outside. But today (and yesterday?) she got meatballs. Why do you throw meatballs to the middle of this years' Wildcat's lineup?

If you don't have 'out' pitches... there is nowhere to breathe in the first 7 of that lineup...

Hemlock vs. cyanide

Good points. I guess a better option for the pitcher's ERA would be to just plunk 'em, then she'd have forced in only 3 runs before she got to the #8 slot.

Turns out she almost hit a third one out today, but LFer caught it at/near the wall: https://twitter.com/StanfordSball/status/851166989942960128
