Old Scout - I spent some time working as a social worker (senior visitor) for the Department of Public Assistance. That time tended to formulate my views on abortion and "choice". I remember one of my clients who was a woman (single caucasian) with 11 children from 11 different fathers. She was always drunk. Nine were up for adoption, and five had been adopted. Four would be difficult to find a home for. One baby, because of physical abnormalities and retardation, was considered non adoptable. I used to go there, and during a normal visit I would change the child's filthy diaper, and his privates were covered with sores and his rear was beet red and smeared with feces. This was the worst case that I had, but many were very close to it. Another case that I remember was a 14 year old barely educable female with already two children, one a filthy mess and the other retarded and babbling. Most of all, I remember the eyes of the children.

JG- Those are stories worthy of discussion & very sad. Much different from if Obama's teenage daughter would get pregnet & they would abort the baby as an inconvenience.....not saying he would, but that is what the man said.
You might also check out his voting record on abortion related bills, either supported abortion or voted present, which he did on several occassions on several bills.....you are what you stand up for, as my dad used to tell me.

Very telling statement if you ask me.

Also even worse, when a baby is born alive in spite of an attempted abortion, Obama voted to not allow a medical doctor access to that baby to give it a chance to live, but instead the baby is left to die. The reason Obama gave for this decision is that "It would put an undue burden on the mother whos original decision was to have the abortion."
Thanks for the exact words....this is very sad to me.

Should a person that is abusing their children  by lack of parenting and irresponsible behavior be allowed to continue harming more children? At what point do we consider incarceration in a correctional or mental facility for child endangerment?I know that sterilization would be out of the question, after all it is her right to abuse her children by the dozen. Should we abort all of her future pregnancies, or stop the drunk before they injure or kill a child??

Woody - You have stated the dilemma we face for such "breeders" and also sexual predators. Sterilization sounds so Nazi oriented, but . . . Should a state have a "choice", or should that be strictly up to the individual? Or should there be no choice?
PS - That ultra sound idea sounds like an enforced extra guilt trip laid on the chooser by the anti abortion group.

Abortion is an issue that is truly in the hands of the people and it seems quite unfair to hang it on any one President.  One can criticize Obama all day long for appointing Supreme Court Justices, who may see abortion rights in a completely different manner, but to go beyond that and berate him for his personal opinions, seems excessive.

Let's get this straight.

BP did not have the power to get the Lockerbie bomber released.  If they had any involvement in that, they had to go to what was then the leftist-oriented British government, who likely saw a way for more tax revenue by dealing with what some would say are less than savory characters.

Now, are you really trying to tell us that you are surprised that a nation that would sell its citizens down the road regarding rationing of national health care would give a crap about the deaths at the hands of one Libyan terrorist?  They seem consistent acts to me.  A government greedy enough to ration care to its citizens seems greedy enough to want to deal with terrorists if there's tax revenue to be had.
