PR has road equipment and public employees that do road repair. Why are the roads impassable this long after the hurricane? PR has a port full of fuel and supplies, yet nobody seems to be able to fuel a truck, get it loaded with relief supplies and drive it to affected areas.

Within two days of hurricane Alicia completely demolishing roads all along Galveston Island all the way to Freeport, road crews had the roads open. That hasn't occurred in PR. Lack of preparation for post storm recovery, lack of coordination between PR Government officials, and incompetence are responsible.

How many out of state responders drove to Texas and Florida. It should have been patently obvious that 2 hurricanes in a matter of weeks would require extra preparation. As trump so clearly pointed out, much to my surprise, Puerto Rico is an island surrounded by deep water. Who knew? Puerto Rico is a poor country with little backup, reserve capabilities to activate. Lack of and delay of adequate concern from our president led to the current depth of the catastrophe. He is showing increasingly disturbing signs of being the racist we all knew he might be. For some of you, I'm sure that's welcomed.

Puerto Rico is largely unable to afford things because they spent all their money on horrible socialist programs.  Same as every South American socialist crap hole.  Instead they should have been building market based businesses that build and sell products for a profit and can reliably employ people.  That would lead to excess profits which they could store and use on a time like this.

Plus it would train their people that hard working and industrious will find a time like a Hurricane as a time to get out there and bust your arse.  That if you do that you will be able to help a lot of people.

After hurricanes, there's work to do. Either get up off your ass like we have in Texas [6 hurricanes in my life] and work or sit around like hurricanes Sandy, Maria and Katrina and cry about it. Fresh and dewy belong to the group of criers. Woe is me

Andrew Sullivan in NY Magazine. He's a gay liberal with some respect for ordinary people and their preferences. That leaves him out on the edge of the post-2008 Democratic Party, which is controlled by post-graduate elitists who are using divide-and-rule diversity politics to impose their own tastes, status symbols and economic self-interests on all Americans.

"Democrats in 2017, in general, tend to criticize the use of immigration enforcement, and tend to side with those accused of violating immigration law, as a broad matter of principle beyond opposing the particular actions of the administration … Democrats are no longer as willing to attack “illegal immigration” as a fundamental problem anymore.

This is, to be blunt, political suicide … In fact, the Democrats increasingly seem to suggest that any kind of distinction between citizens and noncitizens is somehow racist. You could see this at the last [Democratic Party] convention, when an entire evening was dedicated to Latinos, illegal and legal, as if the rule of law were largely irrelevant. Hence the euphemism “undocumented” rather than “illegal.” So the stage was built, lit, and set for Trump …

The entire concept of a nation whose citizens solely determine its future — the core foundation for any viable democracy at all — is now deemed by many left-liberals to be a function of bigotry. This is the kind of madness that could keep them from power indefinitely."

Blue White or Beige?   I am thinking the blue really pops.  I would love to see us do a red white and blue section.

I would paint a giant American flag mural from one end to the other. Go to El Paso, and look across the border. They fly a Mexican flag the size of a football field on a mountain ridge. All the while, Mexican children cross the border from Mexico into the US for an American taxpayer funded education. Yep, this has been going on for a while.

For years, Republicans and Trump supporters misleadingly blamed the Obama Administration for releasing illegal immigrants caught at the border.  Unfortunately, Americans weren't told laws had to be followed and a President wasn't free to indiscriminately toss those he/she feels deserving.  Now the Trump Administration continues the catch and release program because they are subject to the same laws.  No doubt they're not happy about their hands being tied because of a law but, last I looked, there has been no movement put forward by this Republican run Government to change the law.  Was this charge against Obama deliberate campaign rhetoric in order to enrage the voters or was the immigration issue just too complicated?  Who knows.

sh1tty lib lawyers trying to back up the court system.  Always something with that crew.

We will have to come up with a way to be super efficient at processing those hearings, so everyone can get back to the task at hand.  Helping the American worker regain their position as the best workers in the world.

Just follow existing immigration laws, and have a massive amount of ICE agents, and immigration judges in place. Then start sending cattle cars full of every Mexican, Central American illegal Southbound, and load every other foreign national on a cargo plane, and send them home as well. No apologies, it's the law of the land, just like other laws you may not agree with, like Obamacare. If you don't agree, enlist your representative to change the law. Hint, we just elected a non politician to do what politicians would not. If Republicans were serious about illegal immigration, and most of them aren't, they would sign into law EVerify. Massive self deportation within one year. Oh, and EVerify for any Federal, State, and Local welfare benefits, and education. It's just that easy. Pass a law. Laws are passed all the time. While we are at it, round up travel and education visa overstays, and deport them too. It's called immigration enforcement. Hey, we even fund whole government agencies to administer immigration laws, but they are expected to ignore the law of the land? F'ing ridiculous.

African-American aldermen bash $1.1 million for municipal ID program aimed at immigrants

Several African-American aldermen on Tuesday again questioned the need for a city ID program aimed primarily at helping Latino immigrants who entered the country illegally.

The complaints resurfaced during a hearing on Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s 2018 budget, which includes nearly $1.1 million to get the program off the ground. Emanuel has been courting Latino voters ahead of a 2019 re-election bid.

“I just think this is a horrible idea, a waste of taxpayers’ money,” said Ald. Anthony Beale, 9th, who noted the $1 million in costs already incurred and those envisioned, contending such a program would be better handled by the Illinois secretary of state. “I don’t know why we’re trying to create something that’s not an issue for the entire city of Chicago and to throw a couple of million dollars at it? A waste of money, a waste of resources and a waste of effort.”

Clerk Anna Valencia, an Emanuel appointee who will run the program, defended the new ID as a way not only to help immigrants, but also the homeless, seniors, teenagers, veterans and people getting out of jail or prison. The cards could be issued to upward of 150,000 people in the first year and would be linked to city library privileges and the CTA’s Ventrafare card, she said. Discounts for senior citizens might also be linked to the card, she added.

From the article, possibly why dewy and the party of libtards defend these illegals

"President Donald J. Trump received massive criticism for kicking off his 2016 presidential campaign with comments saying Mexico was sending "rapists" when illegal aliens entered the country. Cano-Garcia, however, is one of many illegal aliens from Mexico who have been convicted in American courts for some kind of sexual offense."
