I hope Robo and WhatdoIknow don't hate me for this...

It took me a while to understand the process of posting a picture at this forum. Thought I'd take a stab at relating the procedure. If I fail miseably to make any sense, PM me.

Step one: You cannot post pictures that are not already on the world wide web. If the picture is already posted somewhere, jump to step two.

If you want to post a picture that you have on your computer you CANNOT just post it at UCS, you will have to upload it to some web space. Whether you know it or not, your ISP probably provides you what is termed FTP space. (If the last sentence threw you for a loop, you might have trouble following the remainder of this thread, but hang in there, as Tony Little says, "You can do it!")

Anywhere on the web will do. You just need to get the picture posted somewhere, then copy that link in order to have it posted here at UCS. Easiest is to upload it to your own FTP space or some like spot you already know how to manage. Alternatively, you can upload the picture to any site that accepts images and VIOLA! you have post-a-bility. Examples might be another forum that allows uploading of pics or open a myspace, yahoo or flicker or like account where you can store the pics for later referencing.

Step two: Identify the URL of the picture. What that means is copy the web address (that mumble-jumble in your browser bar) and copy it to the clipboard. This is easily accomplished by highlighting the WHOLE address and hitting the CONTROL and "c" key simultaneously on the keyboard.

Be sure you have the correct address. To get to the picture ONLY of a web page, right click the picture, click PROPERTIES, view the link in the window displayed, HIGHLIGHT that URL and copy via CTRL + C to use that exact web address to be able to repost the picture at Ultimate College Softball.

Step three:  Open a new message and click the little picture icon in the menu bar at the top of the message. It's between the icon that looks like a chain link and the icon that appears as a table.

Copy the URL into the link via the clipboard by using the CONTROL and "v" keys simultaneously. Be sure that you have only one "http://" displayed at the front of the URL. Click "OK".

Step four: Check the post, the picture should now be in your preview of the content you are making for us all to see.

Step five: If it doesn't work, take to two aspirin and call me in the morning.

Step six: Don't abuse the above.

Enjoy!

Next to shut up Loveme....the most PMs I receive ask how to post video on the forum. I'll answer that question in this thread.

After watching a video you should see two urls. One is a link and the other is embedded. Copy and paste the embedded address. When you are ready to post the video click the <> icon at the top. If you scroll over it you'll see "view html source" Position your cursor behind the last the final words and enter

this will skip a line so that the video isn't next to the last word. Then paste the embedded text. I gurantee this plan will not fail.

Those in attendance at OKC are encouraged to share their moments captured in time. See above for the procedure for posting here at UCS.

Dewey, you're inferring that's Bobby Vinton behind the plate?
