I found this amazing:

Only one seed MATCHED their RPI ranking in 2017: No. 1 Florida

AND... What the F*** with Utah? Mind you, this eight-slot elevation came after a week where Utah had gone 0-3 at home. They STILL were 11-8 in the T25. However, they also were 1-4 vs. 26-50.

2017 Selection RPI ---> Seed (net movement)

1. Florida: 1 (0)
2. Oregon: 3 (-1)
3. UCLA: 5 (-2)
4. Washington: 6 (-2)
5. Arizona: 2 (+3)
6. Auburn: 7 (-1)
7. FSU: 4 (+3)
8. Texas A&M: 9 (-1)
9: Tennessee: 8 (+1)
10. Baylor: 15 (-5)
11. Minnesota: >16 (->5)
12. Oklahoma: 10 (+2)
13. JMU: >16 (->3)
14. LSU: 13 (+1)
15. Alabama: 16 (-1)
16. Louisiana: >16 (->0)
18. Ole Miss: 12 (+6)
19. Utah: 11 (+8)

And, resurrecting this one from last year from Bama_CF
RPI rankings below #8 that were awarded national seeds over the past 11 years ...

(Boy, the Weeklys must have photos of a few committee members with farm animals, and Patrick Murphy and Yvette Girouard decidedly did/do NOT):

                                                      LEFT OUT
2017 N8 Tennessee (#9)                  Texas A&M (8)
2016 N5 Oregon (#9)                      Washington (8)
2015 N8 Tennessee (#9)                  FSU (8)
2013 N7 Tennessee (#9)                  Alabama (5)
2013 N5 Arizona State (#11)            LSU (6)
2010 N6 Georgia (#12)                    Oklahoma (7)
2010 N7 Texas (#11)                       LSU (8)
2009 N8 Stanford (#9)                     Arizona (8)
2008 N8 Houston (#11)                    LSU (8)
2007 N4 Texas A&M (#9)                  Alabama (7)

Might happen with Tennessee again today. Looks like FSU will be 7 in the RPI, SC 8, and Tenn 9. That's just an educated guess but I think that will be it. And that would be ridiculous if Tenn got a top 8 seed with a 9 RPI for the 4th time in the last 6 years. I note that the Pac12 has never "lost' a top 8 seed to that process, i.e. the 2 times it was a Pac12 team, they were replaced with another Pac12 team.

FSU's coach should get on the air on ESPN today and deliver some ear bending quotes on that topic which would garner some attention, including the Commitee's.  Saban did it effectively the night before the football selections when he reminded the world about Ohio State's 2 losses, one of which being Iowa 55, Ohio State 24.  She could go with "Surely they aren't going to give Tennessee a top 8 seed even though they don't have a top 8 RPI for the 4th time in the last 6 years. Have Russian, I mean Vol bots hacked the committee?"  [rofl]

The question I have is this: are we talking about the final RPI that was calculated after all the games were played and used on selection Sunday? I thought I had heard that that RPI doesn't get published.

Well, Terrell published it last year in his non-link style, before they killed that link last year. It is posted about a year ago

Here is the link to the NCAA RPI Archive. They publish all the RPI's produced normally. That includes "Current" for every weekly RPI, "Selections" which is the one produced after all games prior to the tournament, that they use for final selections. And "Final" is different. That's after the WCWS is over.

The "Selections" RPI for softball is published for all the recent seasons except it's not there for 2017. "Selections" RPI is also published for all the other sports, as you can see if you peruse the archive. But I've noticed they publish the "Selections" RPI a day or 2 after the selections and seeding are announced.

I have no idea why the 2017 Selections is missing, but I have who was 1 thru 20 saved on my computer. As for this year, the "Selections" RPI should be on the site tomorrow or Tuesday, which sux. It would be much more fun for fans to be able to see it today.
