Yep.  Above and beyond.  Trust me CA has nothing on the Seattle area.   They have ST3.  It is about $100 per 10k of car value.  It is for ST3, Sound Transit 3.  They are ripping out all the roads forcing everyone to ride bikes, take 5hitty buses that take for ever, or ride light rail.

The rail lines they are building purposely do not go where any of the road traffic goes today.  That would make too much sense, so instead of following a major interstate, they are cutting right across towns.

Australia has announced a three-month gun amnesty in an attempt to stop some of the country's 260,000 illegal firearms from falling into the hands of terrorists.

From July 1, owners of unregistered guns will be able to hand them in without fear of punishment.

Why would anyone hand over the self defense of their home, and loved ones to a government agency? That's really stupid, and I won't even entertain the notion of relying on government employees to safeguard me, or my family. What kind of idiot would leave their love ones defenseless at the hand of animals? Idiots.

You know their real thought was that if they make it take a long time to fill your gas guzzler you will trade in your Suburban for a Prius.

As I passed a Chevy Volt yesterday in my truck with a trailer load of creep feed, BTW any body want to come to my house and unloaded 2 pallets of feed? I noticed that even they forget to c!ose the flap over the plug.

Headed out in a couple hours, will log close to 1K miles today and tomorrow, driving almost to South Dakota today then back tomorrow. Probably look like a pretzel by the time I get back home.

I wasn't familiar with creep feed - looked like a possible typo. I looked it up and found it's supplemental feed for livestock still nursing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creep_feeding

That's what you put into a creep feeder, or you can get a range cube feeder you can pull behind a truck or tractor that lays down a trail of cubes. Cows love you either way. You can also use range cubes to bait a fish trap, or use them in conjunction with soured maize to bait a hole for catfish.

Atta girl.

"Deputies with Florida’s Pasco County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) say a woman killed her ex-boyfriend after he allegedly threatened her and showed up at her house with an “assault rifle.”

The incident occurred Saturday just before 10:30 pm.

According to Fox 13 News,  law enforcement officials said 45-year-old Frank Harrison had “previously threatened his ex-girlfriend,” 38-year-old Alejandria Guinn.

When Guinn saw Harrison approaching the house, she allegedly opened the door and shot him to death before he could make entry.

WFTS reports the PCSO’s preliminary report described the shooting as “self-defense,” and Ms. Guinn was not arrested."

That drive sure brought back some old memories. It has been very many years since I have been up to north central Kansas.

Here is an old rodeo story:

Back in the late 80s Barstow Rodeo Equipment was headquartered in Beloit, KS. As you might guess they were a big sponsor of added money to all those small town rodeos in the area. I remember Wichita, KS was $1000 added per event, Bennington, KS was $600 with a buckle, Concordia was $500 with a buckle. We spent some time in the area riding bucking horses chasing gold buckle dreams.

Coming back from one of those small towns, we stopped in Salina, KS to got to a small bar called The Sale Barn, across the street from the sale barn (cowboy priorities). Unfortunately it was closed and the only other place open was right down the road. As we walk in we notice the band has on leather pants, we pay $10 to see The Ramones in Salina Ks. As you might guess 4 guys in a 4 door dually pulling a 4 horse trailer wearing cowboy hats garnered a bit of attention. We had a good time up until they closed the bar and things got a little wild & wooley. As we were leaving a girl grabbed at my hat and I lightly knocked her hand away, that upset her beau as he proceeded to start wailing on my as she tried to gouge my eyeball with her thumb. My first punch caught her square on the jaw and she dropped, not sure if he hesitated when she fell, or the bouncers had started to grab him, but I got in two good licks before they separated us.

There is more to the story, but will have to finish later.

Had no idea where to put this but it does represent ultimate gun control.
A Canadian sniper has been credited with the longest recorded kill shot at..............
2.1 miles

Is there a punchline?

It is impressive, it just seems very dubious to me.  I really wanted details of it OR the punchline.  What rifle?  Who did a Canadian, of all people, kill?  Mercenary I presume.

I'm skeptical as well. When did sniper work turn into a public contest?

Canadian=Leaf.  Leaf's take ginormous amount of crap online.  Especially any political forum where there a lot of Americans.  They are ruthlessly considered weak, weaker than the French.

Great shot though, you gotta say.

No footage of shot.  No actual details at this point, people are saying it will likely be 6 months to a year at the earliest before any details.   The sniper himself is not talking, likely instructed not to talk.  They used a 750 grain Hornady round.

Most news articles read like a press release for Canadian army and Hornady at this point.

The new record was set using a McMillan TAC-50, a .50-caliber weapon and the largest shoulder-fired firearm in existence.tac50-gun

Sitting in Ohio tonight, reading up on Ohio carry law.  The good thing is that they recognize carry permits from any state.  Haven't seen that too much.

The bad news is they have the "duty to retreat" requirement is use of defensive force.  Imminent danger and not being the instigator are the other two elements that constitute and affirmative defense.

The last two are easy.  That duty to retreat thing is touchy.  The law here says that, unless escape and retreat is impossible, you have to announce your intention to retreat, and then actually make an effort to retreat, prior to using defensive force.

That seems like the way to make sure you hang in defensive force incidents to me.

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people t buy cars.
