Has the potential to be a fun one - both with record high net negative favorability ratings.  What the hell are the parties thinking.

From CNN Poll:
On the Republican side, Trump scores a net negative of -33, with a favorable rating of 24% compared to 57% of voters who view him unfavorably. On the Democratic side, Clinton fares only slightly better with a net negative of -21, registering a 31% favorable rating and a 52% unfavorable rating, according to the poll.

This is the age of low-info voters, drive-by journalism, and sound-bite candidacies.  This makes so much sense to me.

Yeah, high name-recognition has propelled both Hillary and Trump to large delegate leads despite their high unfavorable ratings and being weaker candidates in the general election.

Honestly none of this matters. The Ignorant masses will vote in anyone(DEM) that opposes anyone on the right. Doesnt matter if that someone is a criminal, socialist, dog catcher, or whomever.

FTR, KIR was complaining about low-info Trump voters, not the "ignorant" Dem voters. Courting low-info voters doesn't require promising freebies...

I generally speak about ALL low info voters, at the time yes I was speaking of the trumpettes.   They are all the same to me, voting on emotion more than principle.  His voters love that "Lyin' Ted" stuff.  Make America great stuff, with no plans how.  Build a wall, stuff.  How tall and where?

I don't differentiate between Trump, Bernie, obama or bloody pantsuit voters, just as pabar doesn't.  "This is the age of low-info voters,"

I think of low-info as those who vote how Romney says to vote......Even people who vote the same way as Romney......

But, then, it seems he voted for three different people, so far!

And, there's no doubt, hollering low-info is an excuse for losing!

I learned this morning that Mormons favor pardoning illegal immigrants.........I can't find any common ground I have with the Mormons......

So Romney voted three times, works for the CIA and murdered an embassador in Benghazi?

He is one busy guy!

If Democrats and the liberal media don't denounce this "attack" using Trump's family, they're saying family is fair game in this election.

Trump will have a field day. He has nothing to lose.

Of course, Democrats are already in the sewer with Bill and his sordid history with women. They just don't care when it comes to their own candidates.

We'll see how well that works.

Forget the Dems and the media........Looks like a Republican PAC supporting Cruz ran the ad with Trump's wife........Not good for Cruz!

Why do you say it's the Dems and the media?....What's your agenda, FIB?

Cruz is gonna need a friend when Trump unleashes his counter-attack........FIB will be there for him!

Ted Cruz is suggesting he’d find a place for Republican rival John Kasich in his future administration if Kasich agrees to drop out of the presidential race and supports him.

There's no end to Cruz's desperation........It's no secret that the pundits say Kasich's votes won't go to Cruz.......But, Cruz is willing to do anything in his desperation........Cruz is getting way too sleazy for his own good........

Is Make America Awesome even affiliated with the Cruz campaign?

From what I can tell it is strictly an Anti-Trump PAC.  Here is a list of all of his PAC's, and it's not on there https://www.opensecrets.org/pres16/candidate.php?id=N00033085.

Since polls matter...

Where do the polls have him in the general election?

Because winning the GOP nomination but losing to a Democrat in November is LOSING.

Looks like Clinton is up an average of 9.2 points according to RCP.

Of course, Trump hasn't started in on her yet.  It's going to get very interesting.

Just for fun, Cruz is only down 1.4, Rubio is still up 4 and Kasich is up 5.2.  Sanders beats all comers on the GOP side.

It appears, by the numbers, both parties are on the path to nominating their worst general election candidates.

New CNN/ORC poll:

Clinton up 12 overall
55-36 for Clinton on Commander in Chief
55-31 for Clinton on being in touch with the middle class
48-40 for Clinton on who agrees with you on the issues that matter most to you
Clinton +5 on trustworthiness and +15 on person you admire

I would not take a lot of stock in CNN's polling numbers. This is a sample of 920 registered voters. They never mention where these randomly selected adult Americans lived that I can see. If I were to randomly poll people in New York, Connecticut and California, and then poll people from say Texas, Alabama and Florida what differences would that make in the answers to questions? Although I saw no breakdown in age, it was interesting to see land line vs mobile calls. I don't know any people below the age of 40 that have a land line.

My point is that unless you can poll people by some sort of formula that accurately reflects state by state population, political party affiliation, likely voter participation, as well as some other Demographics, then polling can not only be way off, but could easily be manipulated to get desired polling results.

From their polling internals.

Interviews with 1,001 adult Americans conducted by telephone by ORC
International on February 24 - 27, 2016. The margin of sampling error for
results based on the total sample is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
The sample also includes 920 interviews among registered voters (plus or
minus 3 percentage points).
This sample includes 600 interviews among landline respondents and 401
interviews among cell phone respondents.

Monmouth Poll today:

Clinton 48, Trump 38   Clinton +10
Clinton 45, Cruz 40      Clinton +5
Kasich 45,  Clinton 39  Kasich +6

Can anyone explain how Kasich manages to erase the "blue wall"?

Also, further proof that Trump supporters in the primaries are nuts.

He may poll well in the North and the Midwest. Maybe that's where all the polling was done.
