How will the defending National Champions look next season?  Some major losses, who will step up?  I do not expect a repeat, but Super Regionals is possible.  The incoming freshman are:

Makinzy Herzog -Utilty
Kathryn Sandercock - Pitcher
Kiersten Landers - Outfield
Savannah Parker - Infield
Morgan Noah - Utility
Maegan Tomlinson - Utility

Also heard of a new 2021 commit, Maddie Taylor, a pitcher who plays for the Indiana Shockwave.

Fellow Nole fans or anyone in general, feel free to post your thoughts or any knowledge you might have relating to FSU softball.  Go Noles ๐Ÿ˜‰

Herzog is going to be a stud! Excited to see this young lady suit up for next season.

I see people keep mentioning a RS for Sandercock, but why?

I notice that when a good pitcher comes to FSU, Alameda always redshirts them. I guess it gives them time to learn more and then come back the next year with experience in college. King was RS, Burroughs was RS.

The big key will be replacing ALL of the seniors. Klaevemann, Rosario, Hanson, Warren. All were key in the circle and in the lineup.

Klaevemann became almost useless with the implementation of the new slapper rule unfortunately, good player but could not adjust well to the slapper rule.

Losing Warren is a major blow no way around it, but the kids Alameda has coming in are definitely talented.

I think FSU will be fine on the mound with King there, Sherrill is a year older, as well as some of the other kids who made impacts in the World Series.

I still expect FSU to be a top 10-15 team who can make a serious run. All that matters is getting hot at the right time at the end of the year, and Alameda most certainly did that this past season.

Thanks for the explanation smcouvillion

I guess it still comes down to if Sandercock Redshirts. If she does, who emerges as the #2? Will it be Bilodeau, Davis, or any of the other 3 pitchers?

Sounds like FSU will have a crowded bullpen. And 1 proven arm.

Flashbacks of Georgia maybe?

Ok, outofzone feel free to post whatever's on your mind about Sandercock just don't go there on any HS individual awards [biggrin]  I generally try to avoid posting about HS age prospects but it's June so she's basically a college player from this point forward.

I've seen her recently and off on on over the years so I would have to say outofzone is more right than wrong as far as her ability to come in next year and pitch for a wcws contender.  Yes, her velocity has been overstated but what would be of greater concern to me if i were a FSU fan is her lack of movement.  She's too closed in her pitching motion to generate significant movement which anyone can see if you look at any videos of her pitching on the internet.  I don't know anyone who's seen her pitch recently who doesn't think she needs a redshirt freshman year to have any chance of success at FSU.

I know she's considered one of the top pitching recruits in the country but there are 3-4 2018 pitchers in northern Virginia alone nobody talks about who are at least as good, if not better, and have just as good prospects for success at the college level.  That said, by all accounts she's a good kid with very good physical attributes and a solid work ethic so with good coaching (btw- her private pitching coach sucks) she could become a very good college pitcher by the spring of '20.

No, a couple of the pitchers on the roster have never pitched at FSU.  I think it will be King and Bilodeau, a little Davis and that is it.  KS red-shirts.

I think Sandercock is very good but agree she needs more movement on her pitches, some of these things most certainly can be fixed.

At least she will be in the ACC where there is more of a chance for her to develop and pick up that experience without getting hurt as much in the process.

One thing we do know about Lonnie is she always has pitching. I remember Waldrop and nobody recruited her besides FSU and South Alabama. Seemed to work out well. Her ability to develop pitching is great!

Losing Warren hurts. Defensively and offensively, but they will find a way. Herzog sounds like a great edition.  Does anybody know anything about Landers?

She is super athletic, very fast.  I have seen a few clips of her, a left handed slapper.  Will be interesting with the new rule if FSU starts to do away with their hitters slapping.  I think its well known by now that Lonni and Co recruit athletes, lol.

Lonnie can develop very good pitchers, I wouldn't worry too much

Landers is very good too, the freshmen coming in y'all will really like

Alot of talk where Saile/FIU will end up. If she does end up at FSU, Bilodeau will just be making  a lateral move from the Auburn bullpen to the FSU bullpen. Certainly Saile will be the defacto #2 to King if she ends up there.

To the Georgia reference. They had one good arm in Gray who went down. From that moment on they depended on their bats to carry the pathetic pitching. And FSU won't have enough bats next season to carry King alone. So FSU needs a competent #2 transfer pitcher.

The current snapshot for the UGA & FSU bullpens next season you will have approx. 12+ pitchers. And only 1 able to carry a team..King.

Thats if FIU allows it, they could make restrictions on transferring to schools in Florida

After some time with the coaching, Herzog may be able to provide some quality innings pitching, especially if Sandercock does redshirt.

I am not that worried about it, for now I think it will be King, Bilodeau, Davis.  Seems most think KS will redshirt.

I actually think the bats could be better next year.  You cannot replace Warren, but the only other starting hitter we lose is Klaevemann who hit .257 this past season.

If any of the performances this post season by some of the youngsters is any indication of things to come FSU will very much be in the mix next year. The bats will be strong, and some talented kids to work with on the mound next to King

FSU softball no longer rebuilds, it reloads. Great job by a great coach who helps her players dig deep for their best. King is a huge loss, but many championships are built around a dominant experienced pitcher, which you have.. Repeat?
No idea, it is difficult, bur possible. WCWS? Bet on it,

Hanson, indeed. Red shirts, both. I flipped the classes. Donโ€™t get old... not sure it is worth it. Still inclined to believe it beats the alternative.

I think Makinzy Herzog is the recruit I am most excited about, last year FSU snagged the Oklahoma Gatorade player of the year, Sherrill, and this year its the GPOTY from Texas in Herzog.

FSU is not in the recruiting picture for Saile.

I don't think any FSU fans thought we were, especially after picking up Bilodeau.

She is in my personal opinion your best recruit incoming signee. She is the real deal. I've been fortunate to watch a talent like her dominate over the years.

FSU has a great one coming. She will be a major offensive force. I am thinking .340 hitters with a lot of extra base hits, and she will utilize her speed and swipe a ton of bases.

Pretty optimistic for a Freshman.

I'm gonna assume we won't know until she announces, right? She seems to be very private, which I respect. I think most of us (while yes, would all love her talents) just want her to land somewhere that she's the most happy for the remainder of her career.
