We have been ignoring N Korea's crazy man for multiple generations. Does it really matter if we do combat with him? I am of the opinion that we can continue to ignore NK. China is their boss man. I guess if we were to enter into some sort of agreement to remove the thorn from their side, they could save face, and emerge as grand peacemaker in the aftermath? China is all about saving face, and putting on a good face. Accommodate them, remove the thorn? Or better yet, remove the thorn, and put South Korean assets right up against the border.

I'm not real keen on refighting the Korean War.  I hope we don't get lead into that by some of the folks doing the loudest saber rattling right now.

Might be one time I may agree with blue.

Seems to me that if anyone's sons are to go to war, it should be South Korea and Japan's. As of this moment Korea doesn't have the capability of touch American soil, even Hawaii.

Korea has been demonstrating some of their longer range ICMBs.  Do not let last weeks failure fool you at all.  They have in their hands missiles that can likely reach.  They need to more fully test that missile out.  That is what they are doing now.

That is why the language is ratcheting up about NK.

"We" didn't ignore the first 2 generations and the second one used nukes to get attention/aid. Obama assumed the fat kid was continuing his dad's strategy and ignored him (i.e. "strategic patience"). BO realized too late the kid was serious about nukes for his survival, especially when he saw what happened to others that gave up their nukes.

Briefing is scheduled for 3 PM tomorrow. Senate staffers are reportedly not allowed to attend.
