Those would be simple rumors from where I do not know.  Lindsey is staying at TTT for 2 more seasons.  She would never play for another Dutch club.

I spoke with Nat and she said Terras sent her an email but she is not going there.

Good ,Terras is thinking for the 2009 year because after 2008 a lot players will quit.

Hi Dutchtiger, Dutch, and Homefry!

I'm back home now in the States and preparing for the Women's Baseball Nationals.  I'm really happy to see that this thread is continuing and that Dutch softball continues to be discussed!  I will keep reading it and will post in here when it's relevant.  I'm definitely missing Holland, the friends I made, and the Cote d'Or Vit BonBonBloc!

Keep up the good work!

Best,

Well TTT might lose the 2007 top hitter as Nathalie has to decide whether to join the Dutch Olympic Training Team for a chance at the Beijing Games.  She would not be able to train on both sides of the country in the same week.

This happens in the US with players being with the National Teams but then they can get players to replace them, but the talent pool is too small to be able to bring in others.

Tiff, May be an update .

Rob Korpel is the new coach from Almere.
Maaike Blaauwgeers went to Centrals
Ginger de Weerd is leaving i do not know where.
The catcher (the lefty) went to O.G.

Hi Dutch,

Thanks for the update!  I knew Maaike was going to the Centrals (or thought so anyways), and I figured Ginger would leave as well.  Myrthe (the Catcher) was a surprise though to go to O.G.  And...Rob is the new coach at Almere?  What happened to Leo Buiteman?

If I do not make the U.S. Women's Baseball National Team, I hope to come back to Holland next year.  I would prefer to play Hoofdklasse, but I would consider Eerste Klasse if the team was really nice and competitive, the coach good, and the deal right.  I'm still really considering immigration, so another season to cement my cultural fluency and continue to improve my "Nederlands" would be great.  I would likely play competitively for another season (or two if it worked out right) then move into coaching.

Two or (possibly) three teams have expressed an interest, but we'll see after the trade deadlines.  Keep me posted!

Dank u wel!

Groetjes,

Ginger wants to play at Tex Town but the commute is a bit too far. TTT is just in the wrong city.

TTT might have a 20 German pitcher next season she is currently playing in the US.  She is a big, strong lefty.

Kelly Platvoet has left TTT and will also play for Centrals next season.

Thanks, dutchtiger!

Congrats on your great "renaissance" season and congrats, too, on your contract with T "cubed" next year!

I spoke with Nathalie Timmermans and she will return to Holland in January to be with the Dutch Olympic Team.  She now has to decide where to play club ball.

She wants to play for me and the Tex Town Tigers club.  The hard part is the driving distance from Amsterdam.

Nathalie Timmermans will play for Sparks Haarlem in 2008.  Tex Town Tigers is now down to 8 or 9 players for 2008.  Not a team left.  Could be a sign the coach does not fit??  Coaches chasing players away.

There is always a shift in players and coaches this time of the year, I'm sure you will have a complete and competitve team by the Nov1st deadline. Any other "rumors" on players and coaches for other teams in the top class?

Good Luck!

Forgot to ask, what is the rule for non-Dutch (on team) players in the top class?  Any rule change for Pitching, such as American pitchers only pitching one of the DH's and not both as a starter?

No new pitching rules were decided on at the meeting.  I was told there is no limit of EU Passport holders...

I am in the US now recruiting players for 2008...

Got an email today with the rumore of Rebeeca Soumeru going back to play for Run '71, not sure why that would be.  Does not make sense, well we wait a week to see what transfers do happen.

I was informed by Tex Town Tigers today that the transfer paperwork is being done for international player Areke Spel to play in Enschede in 2008.  She follows her Chipola and Euro Stars teammate Karin Tuk.  She would join the team in the Srping after her semester is done in the US.

Well I saw massive list for the Baseball transfers, it is ridiculous how every year the teams look brand new.  They are not "teams" but rather "clubs".  Social clubs that partake in Baseball or Softball.

Tex Town Tigers has a list of 15 players for 2008.  The 2 Dutch players (Karin & Areke) and then 3 non-Dutch, each one has a few small details to work out.

2 reserve players from TTT moved down to the 1st Class to play for Run '71, they wanted guaranteed playing time.  Also Sabrina Soumeru will return to play for Run.

I'm really excited to see all this discussion regarding Dutch softball!  Keep posting, everyone.  I love hearing where past teammates and past opponents (both Dutch and American) are going and what they're up to.

Thanks for taking the time to post!

Centrals will be a new team. They will have mediocre pitching but could be good defensively and offensively.

I have talked with K.Whitt from the GB Team but we have extended our invitations and we will see what happens.

This could be a rebuilding year for TTT, the club will be happy with that if I spend the time focusing on the young players and getting them ready for 2009.  A suggestion from the Board.

So with a handful of DSC players leaving and going to Centrals, who all will DSC have next year?  Is their American coming back?

Nice....glad to see new fields going in there!
Thanks for the info.
Hope all is well with you!
I just got back from playing in the Women's BASEBALL World Series (Roy Hobbs) in Florida, which was a total blast!  I got to see the sun one last time before our dark winter settles in here.

With the changes (if all is correct) plus what may be added to the offical listing, when ever that is posted, it looks as though Wells and Kelly should be the coaches for Sparks!!  Would make since, since many of the "O" players are there now and the few that left were not on the national team summer of 07.

Also may help on the schedule of other teams for 2008 season, what (olympic) players are left on Terras.....

Will they (Dutch National team) do any more with regards to adding or dropping any new or old players , knowing that the "O" team will only have 15 players and not 17 as they did for last summer!  Woill be interested in knowing who will leave and who will be on the "O" team!!
