Clearly it was not a good plan to give the Rocket Man everything he wanted.  Time to call his crazy bluff.  China/Russia know he is a worthless clown.

If Russia and China are not willing to step up, the American people still deserve to be protected from such craziness.  Not have leadership that ships him nukes and missiles to launch them at us.

Rocket Man is a threat to SKor, Japan and Gaum because someone (it was odummer) gave Rocket Man nukes and missiles to threaten them.

Addressing that removes the threat, does not make it worse as odummer has done.

Peace through strength.

Not talking about the white house - more of a popularity contest as Obama and Trump have shown.  Neither had substance.

How about the record number of state houses, governors mansions, house of representatives and the senate?  Clearly the American people have rejected the democratic view on our country in record fashion.

That capability has not been deterred under Trump/ Trump clearly drew a line that Un has crossed repeatedly. In your face, Trump. How have the Trump policies changed from those of Obama's. Obama didn't make up a slanderous name for him?

Addressed by Mattis.  You just need to pay a bit of attention to what is going on.  It was in the Times.

Those missiles were falling "in the middle of the ocean."  "Were they to be aimed at Guam or U.S. territory," " that would elicit a different response."

Because Un and you think alike I will interpret Mattis for you.  Un don't f' with us, or we will most assuredly f' you up.

Don't believe the Post.  They are most definitely fake news.

You yourself said here that Trump scares you cause he is taking an aggressive stance against Un.  Which is it?  Is this another one of those where it is both at that same time?

Still talk. How many N Korean missles were fired over Japan during Obama's terms? How do we know where they were aimed. They crossed JAPAN.

They did  not have missiles that would fly far enough to go over Japan.  Neville Obama gave them that ability.

Trump is addressing the old part of the threat and this new part of the threat accordingly.  Letting our military do what they do best.

He's barking at Un. He acts like you sophomoric conservatives that think calling people names will somehow solve your problems. I'm worried he will trigger this maniac, send him off on some nuclear face saving mission to show strength. There needs to be a clear policy, with Mattis, Tillerson and Trump sending the same messages. Don't hear Mattis calling anybody names.

WaPo OpEd is a pathetic attempt by Obama worshipers to cover up his disastrous underestimation of Un and consequently continuing an inappropriate policy that pissed away the time to curb NoKo's nuclear program with ordinary means. Our only options now are extraordinary and Libs want us to accept NoKo as a nuclear power with the asinine thought he can be contained.

I expect Obama referred to Un as the 'fat kid' or something similar, like he referred to ISIS as the JV.

You neglected to note what he is doing differently, other than calling him names and sending mixed messages.

Not the first time this has happened. They opposed Obama sanction requests also. From your story.

But these measures fall short of the stronger sanctions the U.S. called for after the Pyonyang regime detonated its sixth and most powerful nuclear device last week. In response, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley pressed for a total oil embargo. She also called for direct penalties, such as an asset freeze and global travel ban, against North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

But that proposal was a hard sell to the Russians and Chinese, who hold veto power in the Security Council.

He is pressuring the Chinese and the Russians, extensively.  Additional sanctions have deepened the pain Nkor is feeling.  I expect he is pressuring China to cut off fuel to nkor, which would alone likely topple rocket man.

He has put multiple Thaad anti missle batteries in skor.  Likely numerous ones put in Japan and Guam as well.  I suspect we will put even more Thaads in Skor.

He is preparing the concept of reintroducing nukes in skor and japan.  Both countries have recently stated that the recent hostilities from nkor have them nerved enough that they would welcome talks on introducing nukes to their countries.

He has parked several aircraft carriers off of nkor soil.  He has Mattis carefully preparing to take out every offensive missile and artillery battery nkor has.  I believe that plan is now in place, as Mattis said he is unstated kinetic response to missiles and artillery from nkor.

You do realize they passed new sanctions right?  You really need to keep up.

From the part you didn't report:

The new sanctions set a cap on crude and refined oil exports to North Korea at 8.5 million barrels per year, which represents a 30 percent reduction, according to U.S. officials. The sale of natural gas will be prohibited and refined petroleum sales will be capped at 2 million barrels annually. The Security Council resolution also bans all North Korea textile exports, worth an average of $760 million over the past three years.

That's delusional. TDN said you don't keep up, but the real issue is you only believe what your elite masters tell you.

- 2 additional sets of sanctions passed that will put a real hurt on NoKo. Not surprising that China pushed back on oil embargo since that might create unacceptable instability from their perspective.

- Secondary sanctions levied to strengthen enforcement of primary sanctions. I don't recall Obama ever doing that.

- Major pressure put on China to deal with this.

Bottom line is Obama never followed through on anything and framed his inaction with a euphemism.

More ICBM flights and atom bomb tests than before.

You honestly think if N Korea had shown the possibility of launching an ICBM missle with a nuclear warhead, Obama wouldn't have reacted in kind? These are all logical progressions, but non-military option has to be the highest priority.

He is preparing the concept of reintroducing nukes in skor and japan.  Both countries have recently stated that the recent hostilities from nkor have them nerved enough that they would welcome talks on introducing nukes to their countries. Talks. S Korea wanted the nukes removed. They previously had nukes.

"American tactical nuclear weapons were stationed on the Korean Peninsula for much of the Cold War, on call and ready to repel a North Korean attack. Nuclear bombs, artillery shells and missile warheads were withdrawn from Korea in 1991. Now, as reports surface—and are later denied [3]—of South Korean requests to return tactical nuclear weapons to U.S. bases in Korea, it’s a good time to reflect on the history of the weapons and why they were sent to the country in the first place."

He has parked several aircraft carriers off of nkor soil.  He has Mattis carefully preparing to take out every offensive missile and artillery battery nkor has.  I believe that plan is now in place, as Mattis said he is unstated kinetic response to missiles and artillery from nkor.

This is the posibility I most fear. Carriers and a strong military presence is not new.

Some increased activity was for mainly for propaganda purposes (e.g. SCUD-like missile) in response to Trump. However, the rest are truly troubling because they've embarked on a breakout path since their end goal is in sight. Obama is responsible for them getting to that point.
