There will always be exceptions. If you allow your 15 year old, unlicensed driver son to drive and he kills somebody. You will be charged for negligence. If your gun is taken from you and everybody in your group gets shot. You would be ok. If you leave it in a car and it gets stolen.........jail time for being negligent. If you lose it and don't report it and it's used in a crime. Jail time for being negligent. Be responsible. You have bought a machine that is designed to kill. If you allow it to fall into the hands of a criminal, you should bear some responsibility. Simple.

I could actually envision a scenario where a thief steals a gun, kills the gun owner with that gun and then the government fine the deceased family for the crime.

Lets face it, the Democrats hate the Constitution.  The will do whatever it takes to destroy the 2nd Amendment.  Democrats refuse to acknowledge the times when guns have been used to protect families.  Instead, they would rather that family die so that they can have more stats detailing the evilness of guns.  Democrats refuse to acknowledge that people kill and not guns.

when you explain it that way, I’m sure no lawyers would be able to appeal any of those cases.

If you don’t have reasonable solutions, maybe you should just stick to enforcing current laws.

Another false statement.  Skip the debate, if you so choose, but an emotional comment with no validity serves no purpose whatsoever.

Democrats in the House moving to strike "so help me God" from the oath witnesses take before Congress.  Another move hard left and consistent with socialists' atheistic compass.

We have been over this before, but I'll say it again.  You are legally allowed to have a gun in your car or your home.

If a criminal breaks into my property, and steals my property, you want me to go to jail.

I did nothing - I abided with the law, yet you want me to go to jail.

It does not work that way.  What if they steal the car, and then use it to kill someone?  Maybe in a terrorist attack - drive it down a pedestrian way and kill peds.  Do I go to jail for that?

There is no rational argument that can be made for your position.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Be responsible if you want to own a weapon that kills people. It should be something you'd support.

Case law as well as the Washington State Supreme Court disagree with your position.

What would you rather have? An option to buy your health insurance from Blue Shield or Medicare, or an annual Federal budget deficit of over $1 Trillion dollars? Would you rather have a President who is straight with the American people or a President who makes up false statements and/or says things that aren’t substantiated?

He's a contrarian and just says schitt, most of his ideas would never work in the real world.  If he listed his top 10 wish list, 9 of them are so far left or socialist, he'll be dead before any could be implemented.

It makes no sense charging someone else with a crime they did not commit.

Yes gun owners should be taking reasonable efforts to secure their weapons.  I go into many many peoples homes, and I always see weapons stored in very safe fashion.  Most people have so over spent on gun safes it is not even funny.

Even when we were kids we just threw guns in the closet or under the bed.  These guns were never stolen, nor misused.  We and anyone coming to our homes knew how to treat a weapon appropriately.

Reality is that the gang members in the inner city are the largest culture of people whose guns are stolen, often time and time again.

Also liberals that raise insane kids appear to be not smart enough to gain control of their kids, or to lock their guns away from their kids.

Don't have to prove anything. Given the poor track record of the validity of videos, graphs, pictures and supposed facts posted by you and your rightie extremist friends. I can choose not to follow, yet another, worthless venture into the rightie fantasy world. Give me a NY Times article and we can talk.

I watched it live when it happened, and I will stand my record of factual posts against anyone here.

You remind me of the old Nyman quote from the hitting discussions years ago.

The United States should ban all handguns and assault/semi-assault rifles. We'd ALL be much safer--and isn't that the point? There's be no need for all the sheriff wannabes to walk around with guns, acting like John Wayne except driving a ridiculously large Ram truck instead of riding a horse, and pretending they'll save the day should a bad guy make an appearance. It would save huge numbers of lives as well, since we'd not have to worry about the proverbial "good guy with a gun" becoming a "bad guy with a gun"--an all-too-common thing that the pro-gun crazies never acknowledge. Nearly all the mass shootings we read about--every damn day--are by individuals who, the day before each shooting, were good guys with guns. But they'd developed problems, or always had problems, and the problems turned them into killers. Ban handguns and assault rifles and let's stop being a stupid country.

And, yes, I'm all for getting rid of "in god we trust." What a comically stupid line! Why would we profess to put our "trust" in a fictional creation? Because it makes us feel good? I guess. There is no "god"--it is the most preposterous notion/idea/invention in the history of mankind, concocted because people fear death and want there to be something /after/ life. Yea, I do too--but there won't be. All the "god" and bible stories are nonsense--they're the same as fairy tales for kids. "Heaven"? "Hell"? The "devil"? "The earth created in 7 days." C'mon people.
