I don’t know if they mean that Oregon fan’s heads will explode because it will be a good hire or because it could be a bad hire.

Unless they didn't register, I don't think Florida State is at the Sparkler. Utah, MS, OSU are all there as is CSF (head coach has ties to OR). I can't imagine any of the other coaches at the sparkler would be of much interest.

Um can we just point out that in 2018 USC went from 9th in in-conference BA to 3rd in in-conference BA raising their average almost .4 of a point - behind only UGA and Alabama.

With an OPS going from .650 in 2017 to .785 in 2018. Tell me how there wasn’t an offensive improvement. Went from 3.30 rpg in 2017 to 4.65 rpg in 2018.

And for comparison, adding Oh the pitching went from 4.41 ERA to 3.14 in 2018.

*again all of this is in-conference only bc out of conference SOS can change so much between years.

I believe that their are better assistant coaches at the D2 level compared to the D1 level... Some of the D2 assistants don’t get a chance because D1 coaches are scared to hire D2 assistants...

And he doesn’t want to be there and didn’t invest in our program. So, can you get back to minding your Alabama business? Thanks.

Out of curiosity, how many of the kids contributing to the increase were incoming talent? No opinion here yet in terms of how “successful” he specifically was. I’ll just say that, as a pitching coach, i loooooove the coaches teaching launch angle. Their kids get lucky when my kids don’t pay attention to a swing or throw too many strikes, but my kids win more often than not. 😬😬😬

Then just say that from the beginning instead of insinuating he didn't improve your offense. He did, even with the drop in batting average. Implying he didn't do his job because he "doesn't want to be there" is a nasty tactic used typically by ungrateful people.

Just saying.

. Not sure we're talking about the same coach but this coach also had the Texas job until White snatched it away in the final moments.

Not seeing that happening. But my head would not explode.  He turned done UL word is not enough $ to leave the gig at FSU.  As far as Lisle, no idea why he left or was asked to leave.  Maybe looking for jobs without the bosses knowledge. Maybe being hunted by other programs........Ego is sometimes an evil curse.

How hilarious if true!

Poor coach has missed out on multiple tries.

Maybe true but to try and diminish what he did just bc he may be screwing you over is not a good tactic. I can understand the anger at him jumping ship (if that’s what’s he is doing) after such a successful season, but what can you do. You don’t see Oregon fans trashing White.

I have always wondered if he is all hype or actually can teach batting.  Good guy....St. Mary's makes sense....

That wouldn't make anyone's head explode in Eugene, imo

Just noting - the location of the exploding heads was not specified in spazdad's post.

During the ncaa tournament our bats were terrible. When it really counted we had nothing because we faced a few good rise ball pitchers. The launch angle is whatever without contact. We struck out a lot, and swung at pitches at our heads. We improved at getting on base with HBP, and HR numbers went way up. However, again all it took was a decent rise ball to totally derail it all.

No Oregon heads will explode, Oregon fans will be happy with the choice but some here will have their own heads explode and think the rug had been pulled out from under their "stable" program in some way.  Lets get through the 4th and sit back and watch the scramble.[biggrin]

Lisle seems like a phony - hasn't ever been anywhere more than one year...Though, I did hear rumor that he is being courted by Delaware

Why did Heifner leave one year after leaving her long time NMSU job for Minnie?

In that defense... SoCal a slightly different dynamic, I would surmise, with coaches switching with frequency too?

Not as much the case in South Florida. A rainbow player down here was primarily a pitcher for whom the coach didn't quite kiss enough parent a** to keep.

that's true.  in my DD's defense it was to play better competition all the time. the last two years was against the best competition.
