This means that Alabama will be no worse than No. 9, if not higher.  I hope that these guys are soothsayers and can really predict the future!

They repeatedly utterly ignore the loss of a starting pitcher... maybe they think this is baseball

Looks like their WCWS field is 1. Oklahoma, 2. Florida, 3. UCLA, 4. Oregon, 5. Washington, 6. Alabama, 7. Arizona, 8. Texas A&M

Osorio can get Alabama there. Arizona is just not top 10 to me, and certainly not top 8 unless Mcquillin has a break out season. I’m looking hard for the Vols to return to OKC

I agree, Osorio can beat any team, if they give her a run or two each game, that team can go far.

I just hope Osorio is over whatever her problem was last year.  Not because I care how Alabama does, but because I want to watch entertaining games.  She had a couple of games on TV last year where she had so many walks and Ks and so few balls put in play that it was just plain boring and excruciating to watch.  It was like watching a highly skilled 10U game at times.

I don't think any team with a mediocre or worse offense can ride one arm

Coming off injury with no littlejohn... can't see the rpi surviving into a top 8
Too many innings

I think they’ll end up 13-18 RPI and be on the bubble for hosting regionals again

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Osorio is a tremendous pitcher. I love her intensity in the circle.
But is she the best pitcher in the game..?
Are there other pitchers who can match her in the circle - who have better offensive teammates than Osorio..?
I think Alexa O. is right up there with the best pitchers in the NCAA...
but the offensive side of her team is just not as strong as some of the teams they will need to beat.
And... 3LT's point of Alabama riding one arm has much validity.

Oh I’m sorry, I was speaking to their chances of getting to OKC. I wasn’t talking about RPI. No, I don’t think Bama goes into the top 8 RPI. Sorry about that.

OK... I see what you are getting at.

I still think she is going to be asked to toss about 260-300 innings, a minimum 30 percent increase, and that would be a load

I see Gettins and Preston getting the majority of the early season games with Osorio getting a start about once a week.  As they enter SEC play, the load will increase for Osorio.  I think that if Bama can get away with her getting 1 to 2 starts per SEC series, she will be fresh enough for regionals and super regionals.  After that, she can carry the load in OKC.

"One to two starts in per SEC series"???????
If that isn't two to three, they ain't even hosting regionals

Agreed. And if they start losing you can throw that pre Sec, 1 start a week stuff out the window.

She is a freshman. Always growing pains.

I thought how awful it was that two pitchers the same year medically retired.

Osorio is a phenomenal talent. I really think if she would attack the zone more instead of relying so much on the swing and miss or called strike around the letters it would take her game to the next level. I know she struggled with walks last year. At one point during Game 1 of the Auburn series last year, it was literally walk-K-walk-K-walk-K with no balls being put into play. Her pitch count was really high. It’ll be interesting to see how much support she gets from the other 2 pitchers. Littlejohn made for an excellent 1-2 punch.
