So, you guys signing the secession petition?  I just saw that the State something or other has allowed the petition question to go forward, pending signatures.

If a state like, oh, how about Georgia, had actually begun such an effort during Obama's time, we would've been called racists.

I feel badly for you guys out there, but I would be OK if the whole West Coast went. Maybe New England can go to, take Ohio and Illinois with them.  Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach Counties can get out a Sawz All and form their own Caribbean Island.

Works for me.

Luckily for me, I live nowhere near the cesspools of LA of SF.  If California secedes, it will become a banana republic and I'll move.  I don't see it happening though.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the South seceded for economic reasons - as is, the coasts are sucking us dry.

Palestine Tx. is looking pretty damn good these days.

"Advocates who want California to secede from the rest of the United States were given the green light Monday to begin collecting signatures for their initiative.

California’s Secretary of State Alex Padilla announced the ballot proposal had been cleared.

The latest measure would ask voters in 2020 to decide whether to open up a secession discussion. If passed, a second election would be held a year later asking voters to affirm the decision and become an independent country.

Advocates have until mid-October to gather 365,880 signatures of registered voters to get it on the ballot.

Marcus Ruiz Evans and Louis J. Marinelli, co-founders of the group Yes California, said the second vote would show that Californians are serious about secession and would strengthen the case for foreign governments to recognize the state’s independence.

“We realize it may seem like a long time to wait,” Marinelli told The Times of San Diego. “But we need time to have a serious dialogue with the people of California about why they should support the independence referendum by voting yes. The voters need to make an informed decision when they go to the polls to determine California’s political future.”

Evans told CNBC that while his group is progressive, they do embrace some conservative ideals.   "Calexit is left — we are progressive, and that's why we don't like Trump," Evans said. "

I guess I'm generally opposed to secession if I were to continue to live in CA post-secession.  I would be pro if I were to move.

"And that's another day at the BART station."

San Fran, the poster child for Dem run cities. Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station, during rush hour.

San Fran has become a cesspool of needles and feces. A perfect example of liberal policies unchecked. Add in the murder of Kate Steinle by an illegal, who was acquitted, and the city by the bay smells of dead fish.
And Gavin Newsom, the ex mayor is leading the polls for governor

I was super happy to see Los Al bucking the system. HB had a contentious city council meeting as well with hundreds of locals coming out to voice their dissent againt the sanctuary city bs.

I work in Brea and thankfully we don't have a lot of issues to speak of.

La Mirada and L.A. County and the "New and Improved California" will be overrun with illegals and that's the way they want it

lol yea what a sh1t show. The libs love that 3 state setup of course, conveniently leave the cesspool of the Bay Area in NC, then have LA in Cali, leave San Diego in So Cal. Instead of 2 liberal idiot (D) senators, cali gets 6 now. What could go wrong?

Can Texas split up into 5 states and pick up an additional 8 Senators?

There is a new bill they are trying to rush through the state senate before recess. Itchanges the definitions of acceptable use of force by the police and its goal is to make it easier to prosecute cops for doing their jobs.
In a nutshell it now says that retreating is an acceptable option in a potential conflict. Yes, you read that right. They are telling the police to run away and not engage criminals in potentially violent situations. One idiot legislator said the police could go to the suspects house at a later time and perform than arrest.
Most of the nonsense from the left is a bit funny but this is downright scary.

They have already screwed cops with this.  They now often call off pursuits to reduce chance of an accident.

California is considering passing a law allowing resteraunts to offer only milk or water.

Of course through a crappy paper straw.

I bet freshy drinks his Southern Comfort and Coke through a straw.

Sacramento Bee reports Newsome - (D) lead over Cox - (R) has shrunk to 5 points. Five points!

https://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article218028260.html

Also, DiFi's lead over Socialist De Leon has shrunk to single digits, much of Deleons support coming from Republicans. (There is no R in the Senate race.) My note to this is that it's silly. R's should support 85 yo DiFi, who likely won't serve until she's 91, in which case the Gov appoints her replacement ... and if Cox wins... 😉

The gains for Cox are at least partly attributable to voters registering to defeat the insane Gas Tax that Democrats (of course) rammed through last year.
