Congrats to all the girls at FSU and especially Lonni Alameda. She has done a tremendous job at this Program.

Great pitching by King to win them the natty, amazing records set by this team!

I wish Alameda would have at least let Hanson pitch some innings in the championship, feel bad for her, amazing pitcher.

No doubt.  They took it  by the horns and won it from a tough spot.  Great pitching and great hitting those last few games.

Congrats to FSU (from a GT fan)!

So glad Warren won that MOP for what she’s done in this tournament.

Definitely the most interesting WCWS is quite a while.  Great to see FSU win while having such a good time; especially on the edge of elimination for so long.

Something for everyone in this one.

I am not thinking that they care much about the MOP award.

Agreed.  FSU was easy to root for.  So great to have a 1st time winner this year.  I had thought that would have been Oregon, but FSU was just too hot.

First of all let me start by say a huge congratulations to Florida State. Amazing the run they put together. Not sure I have witnessed a team play that well over a 4 day run in the history of our sport.

Now let's examine something in this post. You wish Alameda would have at least LET Hanson pitch. LET, seriously, you used let in a sentence associated with playing time in a National Championship game. Hanson won a National Championship, she is a National Champion. Coach Alameda made a decision she felt gave her team the best chance to win today's game, and if that mean King pitched and Hanson didn't, then that was the basis of the decision. So many players, parents and fans today feel that they are obligated to play or get playing time thrown their way. I still am baffled by how we should feel bad for a National Champion.

Congrats to FSU and especially Meghan King and Jessie Warren. What an amazing run in this WCWS. They fought like hell from that losers bracket avoiding elimination all weekend and are now the champs!

Still in awe of the run this team put together and how they went about accomplishing it. Impressive from top to bottom, but just wow to Warren and King. Incredible performances against great competition.

Congrats to FSU
You had locals in the stands cheering you after the sooners were out

Can't remember the last time I saw a team click with pitching and timely hitting and homeruns in a 4 day stretch of wcws
Washington ran out of magic. Good season for them but like top sec teams, ou, Michigan, etc....they don't play to get to wcws...they play for championships.
FSU overcame a first inning of folly and comedy--spotting Washington 3 runs and quickly got 2 of them back in bottom of 1st. The error filled inning didn't phase them

Teams win championships and FSU was not in powerful SEC nor PAc12 and only notre dame got an invite to tourney with them. Like OU they kept the streak of non-power conferences champions going....now at 3 in a row.
SO much to like about the FSU team and top to bottom and pitching they came thru. For fSU fans.....celebrate....you earned it. SAw a few of you out eating in brick town tonight

I know this isn't travel ball anymore and I understand that she won a national championship.

Yes, Meghan King pitched a great game, but Hanson is a senior and King is a junior. Let's not forget that Hanson led most of the way this season for the seminoles, she led with ERA, strikeouts, IP. She got them to the World Series.

Without Hanson transferring, FSU would be nothing.

When FSU scored 7 runs in that game, Hanson should have come in. She should have at least got the opportunity to pitch at least 1 inning in the championship because she was the one that got them there.

Excellent job and many congrats to Lonnie - great coach!

Meghan really put the effort into her pitching and both warren and hanson stepped up with their talent.

Don't forget Warren's diving catch and HRs!!

Excellent - so very proud for the Seminoles.

Congratulations to Florida State and Lonni Alameda.  It is appropriate that the first team in many years to navigate the loser's bracket and win the CWS was a team that many thought didn't belong here in the first place.

At least, an Oklahoma alumnus, Lonni Alameda, won the title.  Just keeping it in the family.

Jessie Warren was fantastic....

but Meghan King was even greater.  My vote would have gone to King.
One earned rune in over 30 IP.   Simply amazing!

Congrats FSU.  Well deserved.  They should not have an MOP award, as it does take a whole team effort to win a championship.  Pitcher's keep the runs off, but without offense you still have zero on the score board.  this was a whole team effort and you could tell how bad they all wanted it.  If they want to give one out, give one for offense and defense.

Kylee pitched better until May, Meggo pitched much better after May 1.

And... was the best pitcher in history from June 2 through June 5

Totally fair

Busy night! Rare for me. To my Nole buddies, rest assured that i watched every pitch of your national championship win over UW,, another of my favorites. Meghan King, Jessie Warren, and Carsyn Gordon are the bomb! Almost as-much fun as I could have had if it were our girls. Cherish this rare moment, appreciate what it took to get here, and make sure your friends, daughters and female student athletes know you care! Go Noles, 2018 WCWS Champions!!
