Hammer - a simple question.  Just wondering why you regularly talk about these young ladies in such a disparaging manner?

After doing some research. I see that Chinese Pitcher Chenxi Jiao has pitched over 100 Innings. 11+ wins! and an ERA under 1.00!

Hmmm..... Some poster missed this!

I know better than to respond to such a "trash comment", but I will.

Why am I not, in the least bit, surprised in reading such a comment coming from YOU?

Just so YOU know (relatively sure everyone else already does) - on your prejudiced views on the world's peoples, and now expressed with your latest shots at farmers, I COULDN'T POSSIBLY DISAGREE WITH YOU MORE.

Scottie Softball to play KCK in Region Semi-Finals
Posted by jarnold 05/6/10 12:27pm Comments 0 5/5
The Highland Community College softball team adavanced into the semi-finals of the NJCAA Region VI Division II tournament and will take on Kansas City Kansas Community College on Saturday in Wichita.

The Scotties entered the tournament as the #6 seed with a 31-12 overall record. In the first round, Highland defeated #11 seed Hesston College in a best of three game series. The Scotties won game one by the final of 5-4 in eight innings. Hesston won game two by the final of 4-2 before Highland advanced with a 6-1 game three victory.

Freshman Chenxi Jiao (Beijing, China) went the distance on the mound in game one for the Scotties. Jiao gave up four runs on six hits and struck out five batters. On offense, sophomore Melissa Pratt (Tonganoxie) was red hot, going 2-2 at the plate including a home run, drove in three runs, and scored twice.

In game two, Hesston jumped out to a 4-0 lead before the Highland bats could answer, but the deficit proved to be too much for the Scotties to overcome and a third game woud be necessary. Freshman Erin Sobotka (Overland Park) gave up four runs on seven hits in nearly seven innings of work. Freshman Taylor Nave (Topeka) drove in one run and scored once on 2-2 hitting, including a double. Melissa Pratt drove in the other Scottie run.

“Win or go home,” as the sports saying goes, the Scotties season would come down to a single game. Hesston struck first in game three, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but the Scotties answered with three runs in the same inning. Behind stellar pitching by Chenxi Jiao, Highland took game three and adavanced to play another day.

Jiao went 6.2 innings, givign up one run on five hits. Freshman Joey Bunch (Loose Creek, Mo.) went 1-2 with two runs batted in and a run scored. Sophomore Brelynn Schloo (Salina) went 2-3 with one run batted in.

The Scotties play KCK at the Two Rivers Sports Complex in Wichita. The game is set to begin at 7 p.m.
