Heading back to White Rock and Surrey later this week! Truly excited to see all the International Softball Teams in the Vancouver British Columbia!

In 2005 we heard the news in Softball City that Softball was voted out of the 2012 Olympics! It was a truly sickening feeling!

In the four years since Beijing 2008. So much has changed in International Softball.

I am excited to be a part of the International Softball Development taking place in Softball City!

Greg Timm has done a wonderful job keeping this event alive.

They do a great job of Softball development at the Canadian Open.

All the National Teams will be in Tune Up mode in Surrey. Preparing for the ISF World Championship Games later this month.

This will be fun!

So excited, but I have a couple questions.
1. Do you know if the games will be televised, or able to be seen on Internet?
2. What teams are going to play? I heard like 16!!!

Searching my DVR guide for Softball shows no National Team coverage for the next 2 weeks which includes the Canada Cup and the World Championships.  That's a shame.

Lots of reruns of of college softball and the World Cup, though.

fans will also have the opportunity to watch all 66 games of the ISF XIII Women’s World Championship (July 13-22 in Whitehorse, Yukon) via live web stream at no cost. Live scoring will also be available for all games, so there will be no shortage of softball action this summer! And if you can't make it out to the park to watch Team Canada as they compete in the Scotiabank Canadian Open Fastpitch, there will be live web streaming for all of their games during this event as well!

Bummer. I've been recording all of the USA games and making them into DVD's for Rick Fischer.  I can't do that if it's streaming.

US, in my opinion, looked shakey in game one. But already in game two, thru 2 full innings, US has a 7-0 lead over Puerto Rico. Thats not the most excited thing though, Arioto is 2 for 2 with 2 Homeruns, a 2-run HR in the first, and a grand-slam in the second! Looking good USA

Im wondering why we have to pay to watch. That seems ridiculous. I will just keep up with the live stats, instead of paying 4$ for 1 GAME!!!

Candian papers report danielle lawrie will be playing for team canada in upcoming world championships.

They also mentioned olympic softball and the usa with it's unlimited pool of ncaa talent.

I think it's rather unlikely that Danielle Lawrie will play for Canada in the World Championships. I've seen her tell several people on Twitter she isn't playing for Canada this summer. I guess maybe there could have been a change of plans but I don't really think so. I think it's rather unlikely you'll see her play for the Red and White again. I guess we shall see!

....Without Olympic-status funding, several countries headed to Yukon require their athletes to self fund - New Zealand is only bringing players who could come up with $7,000 each to get to Whitehorse

Frank,

Go over to Twitter.com and follow @ASAUSAsoftball. (Or click on that link).  They post updates during the game.  In the last game vs. Australia, Fischer had two RBIs in the first inning and that was enough to win.  Final score 7-0 in five innings.

Sorry frank, I didn't see your post. Fischer was 3-3 with 2 doubles. Val went 2-2, which brings her average in this tournament up to .857 . Ricketts pitched all 5 innings giving up only 2 hits, 1 walk, and struck out 4. Looking good so far!

Frank,

I know nothing about Sam's hitting coach.  It never came up in conversation.  I never sought out nor paid for one so it was never on my conversation list.  (Sorry Scott.)

Charlie - I asked because those two appear to have very different approaches, yet both achieve excellent results.  I'm sure that someone will now point out the similarities they have in approach and the similarities between their swings in the "areas where it counts".  I'd like to hear about that also.   Frank
