Good thing Pat Cochran taught her to be a gap 2B hitter with the occasional HR! i'll take Little League HR's all day! lol...

Both Hofstra and JMU will be playing in a loaded tournament in Clearwater, FL next season. https://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2018/05/espn-events-announces-inaugural-elite-softball-invitational-in-clearwater-florida/

Love Clearwater, but they need to cancel school for the kids that are next to Eddie Moore, and relax with the guys keeping track of certain people drinking in the parking lots!

Tournament looks awesome!

Totally meaningless tidbit, but figured I'd share...

With FSU winning the 2018 World Series tonight, that made the HU ladies the second Pride team in the past three years to have a regular season victory over the eventual national champion in their respective sport.

In 2016, the Men's Lacrosse program defeated UNC.

Seth Tierney is being paid six figures to run the lacrosse program; so my point being, TIME TO PAY whomever succeeds Larissa since softball is one of the few programs that is still relevant on campus.

Hofstra near a hire? Recruiting will begin to suffer soon if someone is not named.

Heard that Cornell was going to transfer to Mizzou with Anderson and Dandola was transfering as well. Big shift if any of that turns out to be true

The big question is whether Good finishes with JMU or goes to Auburn. Delaware is a crappy program and maybe things aren't so rosy at Hofstra.

As of right now, with or without Good, JMU is the team to beat. Stability with a quality coach is tough to beat!

Concur!

Even if HU does bring back both pitchers, they are still looking at replacing 70 percent of their starting line-up on offense, and a new dugout leader.

Until we see what the new faces can do, Pride softball has to be regarded as in the midst of a rebuild.

Hofstra hires Jay Miller as their new softball head coach.

So what’s the consensus on this hire?

My personal opinion: It’s not a sexy hire by any means. However, he has plenty of experience at the highest level. I honestly think this was a hire to mentor Julie Meyer. At the end of the day, this was going to be a rebuilding year for Hofstra regardless of who the head coach was. If I were to grade this hire, I’d give it a B-/B.

It is going to be more than a rebuilding year for Hofstra. Here is how I see the next couple weeks playing out.... Cornell , and Wert are going with Larissa to Missouri. If Larissa loses any more Missouri girls she could possibly be taking more with her.  Dandola is leaving . So out of this springs starters you lose... Cornell, Dandola, Transue, Pietrafesa, Michalowski, Alloca, Musa, Edwards, and Patierno .
So Scarpato, and Hallam are  left, with nobody else on the roster with any real experience.
How many of Larissas future Hofstra recruits will uncommit to go with her as well.  This is not over.

Whadyasay do you know these players are definitely going with larrissa to Missouri? Where is dandola going since you have all this inside information.

She hasn't said yet, but the sharks are circling the boat.

so just your opinion. Funny but when Bill Edwards retired  there were experts on this board predicting that Hofstra would never be competitive in the CAA again. We all know how that turned out, 2 CAA championships in 4 years for Larissa Anderson.

He registered on this forum 3 hours ago, and has 2 total posts. Literally means nothing, unless a trusted poster confirms it. I wouldn’t worry about it yet.

The hire by Hofstra is horrible and rings of the "good old boys club." It is clear that Bill Edwards still runs the show and any coach that wants the job is going to have to do it the Bill Edwards way. That may be fine for the Hofstra fans, players and alumni but they could have at least hired someone that still has a pulse.

Julie Meyer would be incredibly dumb to stay and "be mentored" she should be ready to be a head coach at over 10 years of experience coaching. If she was the future they should have hired her.

i've heard the Cornell and Dandola rumors so there is likely some shade of truth to them but it could all still end with them still playing for hofstra next year like the Megan Good transfer saga appears to be playing out.

Dandola has visits scheduled. At least 3 people passed on the Hofstra job. Sh*t show for sure.
