If Vegas made odds on softball JMU would currently be favored in every game on the 2018 schedule.  Of course they will not win every game but with Good strategically deployed their schedule (not as strong as the last few years) would allow for the Dukes to be favored throughout.

IF true, look for her to transfer for her final year of eligibility.

Anybody say Auburn the 2019 Pre-Season #1 in SEC.

That is definitely a setup for a transfer.

To anywhere.

Did she love MD, or is that just a convenient narrative?

Depends on who you talk to. But yes, she could pretty much pick her spot don't ya think?

She had to be talked off the ledge when he announced his departure.  She was not on time to graduate so would be surprised if she left.  If she ended up at Auburn they should call in Robert Mueller as it would reek of collusion! 😉

She could finish her studies anywhere. Collusion? Joking right? That would make a great 30-30 on ESPN: College Coach & Star Pitcher collude on season ending knee surgery for transfer purposes.

Yes that was a joke.  She is a home girl and would be shocked if she (ever) left the valley.

She is from just down the road....but an oppt. to play Power 5 for a NC...enticing.

I'll watch her wherever she plays. One of my favorites. Wish her nothing but the best.

And--again, if true--maybe she would want to broaden her horizons and ditch her blankie for one year, like Craighton and Sanders did

Wow - that is probably the worst post I have ever read here.  "Ditch her blankie"?  Pathetic.

Puhhhhlease.... you guys all yap about how she is a home girl and would never leave 'the valley'

The comment is directed more toward that commentary than anything.

But yeah, getting away from home is jumping out of the comfort zone.... I didn't know that 'blankie' had such virulent undertones to it. LOL

You were taking a shot at all the schools outside the power 5, admit it.  Still pathetic.

P5? No.

There are many, many kids who play close to home for that same sense of comfort in the P5

The only time the fans of the non-P5s deserve criticism is when they get too full of themselves in touting numbers or ripping RPI, ignoring the patsy schedule.

The programs themselves? If they pay kids to play softball, they are great in my book

You are correct schools should schedule more games against the Pac 12...Little JMU was 6-1 vs the Pac 12 last 4 years with 3 true road wins and an NCAA win..  Heck they may have a higher winning percentage against the Pac than they do against the CAA the last 4 years.

And heck they didn't even get a very bad Stanford team.

Well that changes things[frown].   However, without doing my homework I imagine the 'weak' schedule' is still as good or better than anyone else in the conference.

Wish all CAA softball schools thought of/were able to schedule on the same terms.

"So many top 50 RPI games, so many Top 100 RPI games, try to reduce scheduling of games with opponents higher than 175." sort of thing

Might make it a little more interesting.

IF injury is true, wish her nothing but the quickest and most complete recovery.

Meant weak as compared to past early season schedules. RPI reflected the trend down last year and will continue to trend even further this year. Was probably good to schedule as such until they feel they have the horses again to compete with the Alabamas, Tennessees, etc of the world. With the quality of the education and the facilities I certainly think they will.

The talk about JMU and their PAC 12 wins and RPI and all of that is now at an end. Without the top level pitching and their coach they are a CAA team again. Hey diddle diddle back in the middle.

Ladera, without Good in the mix, where does that land Towson this year?

I think we have the best offense in the Conference if everyone stays healthy... The new pitching looked good this fall, but fall is a different animal. I would say we should be battling for the top spot for sure... We should score lots of runs...

there really is a wide open Conference without Megan... only team i see on the out's is Drexel (just based on history)... so good teams will get left out again, just hope its not us...

According to the link for last year I am not sure Towson has the best offense.

I said i think we do this year... [wink] it seems everyone is healthy and ready to go! and again assuming Megan is not playing because she was a lot of JMU's Offensive numbers last year as well...

Towson should be pretty strong offensively even with Cahill gone. I just can't see the one freshman pitcher throwing all the innings. Have no idea of she is even good, but the rest of the staff can't be counted on. What happened to Thrower? No longer on the roster, career-ending injury?

I still would pick JMU to win the conference without Megan, but it is definitely more wide open.

JMU may win the conference, but a conference tournament takes away some of their advantage. The tournament should be wide open.

Tournament is wide open. Right team playing well at the right time is all it will take for one of the top seeds to be upset. Playing well in close ball games, seeing good pitching, efficient pitching & offense...pre-season schedule could come more into play this year...it will highlight what teams will be most prepared for a winner take all elimination format.
