You obviously feel Hofstra has freshman pitching that can deliver since there is no evidence that any returning player will contribute in the circle.  Did the new kids show that kind of potential in the Fall?

Not sure, but from what I saw last year they have to be an improvement. Plus I believe that they are a better team than Towson, who also is not blessed with top flight pitching.

Sara Cornell Gatorade player of the year NY State. Alyssa Irons 6ft2 power pitcher from Chicago will give Hofstra much better pitching than last year. They are also control pitchers. Probably in the mold of Kayleigh Lotti.

Hard to what anyone will look like before their first games against college competition.

Never thought of Lotti as a 'control pitcher'.  I generally reserve that term for kids throwing in the low 60's who get by on location.  That was not Kayleigh.

If either of the incoming kids approximate her Hofstra will be fine but that's a pretty high bar  IMHO.

Nobody had Galatis control but these two are somewhere between Galati and Kayleigh control wise. About 2 walks per 7 innings and about 10Ks per 7innings.Also Cornell broke galatis Long Island record for career strikeouts and strikeouts in a season.

Any team with 10/2 pitcher will do fine. That's an ERA somewhere south of 2.00.

Considering 10k/7innings would get you in the top 5 in the country last season. that's a little more than fine.

Sorry my bad I think she plays for the outlaws. Her coach Dreslinski had two daughters who played for Hofstra.

I hope Michaela Transue is back at full strength for his season, we really missed her in the lineup both at bat and at short stop. As of yesterday she was still practicing in a walking boot.

How many games will JMU lose this season...They have lost 1 regular season game the last 2 years.  Without Ford things could be a different...in years past though Good has pitched usually 2 of the 3 games.  Does that open up JMU to possibly lose 3 or more games..

Who would give Towson a number 1 vote, other than Towson? Somebody must have checked the wrong box. Delaware will be terrible, they are listed too high.

You might be right, but I have seen in other conferences where they can.

You think the Delaware coach would be stupid enough to play the hardest schedule in the conference if he didn't think the team wasn't going to be good? Risk being fired by the new AD from Michigan who doesn't tolerate losing? Really? They basically have the same team from last year except for the 2 lousy pitchers that they replaced with better ones.

Nothing wrong with their schedule but are you sure it's the hardest in the conf?  JMU's schedule is certainly not what it was last year but sure seems much tougher than Delaware's....Not sure how it compares to others in the Conf.

Delaware does have the advantage of getting 3 games vs JMU that JMU doesn't get in conf.

Yeah2017., to answer your first question, yes he is. Ever meet him? The two pitchers he lost were pretty good. He will get smoked. That team is not that good

Who has experienced pitching returning?  Megan Good alone will virtually assure JMU the regular season title.  I think UNCW may be a bit too low with three pitchers returning that were serviceable last season. Anyone other teams with returners with decent (< 3.50) ERA's?

Quick look at stats/rosters it appears C of C also returns a couple of decent kids.

Four-tiers here:
1. JMU
2. Towson, Hofstra, C of C
3. Elon, UNCW, Delaware (these three fight it out for the last tourney spot)
4. Drexel

I'm not a fan. Several people I know say he threw the previous coach under the bus. I also know a couple insiders who tell me he's bad

Just curious by how are you judging this? I did an analysis of the top 6 teams in the conference... based on Average RPI of opponents, number of opponents in the top 100 of the RPI, number of opponents in the top 50 of the RPI... My Numbers Show UD with the 4th hardest schedule in the conference...
