Automatic Bids = ALL CAPS, Ties were broken by head-to-head results if there was not a head to head result it was broken with whomever had the higher rpi.

Incredibly weak bubble right now imo when deciding those last few teams. Missouri stays above .500 so they stay in the field. Utah drops below .500 so they are out.

Biggest dilemma for me is will they send Arkansas to Oklahoma. Right now I have Arkansas as the number 17 team, so bracket integrity says that they shouldn't send them to the 3 seed, but Oklahoma is the only host within 400 miles, so for now I still have them going there.

Thanks for putting this together. I'm curious why no Long Beach. I haven't looked at their conference record (Big West) but is it a one bid conference and their not looking to be #1 seed? (Genuinely asking, not trying to be a dick) latest rankings are solid.

16 - RPI
18 - USA today/NFCA

Looks like they are not an auto bid conference. Edit: According to this post

But it would seem weird to omit the #16 RPI team (and 5 time WCWS participant) from a conference that has a former champ (CSF '86) and has put a team in the WCWS (Hawaii) as recently as 2010.

Weird. Big West is an Auto Bid Conference. Every conference is. They should definitely be in the tournament.

Automatic bid for Big West team is not represented here, oops! Right now Long Beach and Cal State Fullerton both sitting at 6-0 in conference with the rest of the teams at or below .500. They face each other this weekend which will bust up the tie. Fullerton is going for the 3-peat and was tabbed to win the Big West again but struggled out the gate and Long Beach State stepped up with a great season so far. If Fullerton can win out (they did last year after a rough start) then maybe the Big West might be considered for an at large berth with Long Beach??? If Long Beach takes the conference they would for sure be the only Big West team in payoffs.

The Ivy is likely a three way dead heat at this point if we were going to lay bets, but I'm sure Dartmouth hopes this list is right.

Wisconsin hanging on by a thread.  They are at .500 right now.  They will be clear favorites in 5 remaining games (DH v. Green Bay and 3 at home v. Purdue), but they also have 11 games against Illinois, Nebraska, MN, and Northwestern.

Too early to declare that Oklahoma, Washington, Oregon, ASU, UCLA, Georgia and Florida are mortal locks to be top 8 seeds?

Considering Georgia has Kentucky, Bama and Ole Miss left...probably not a lock.

And UCLA, if they don't have Garcia and get swept by Arizona and Washington, could be out too

3lt please!  Arizona sweeping Ucla?  This year?  Lol!  They will be lucky to pull one game from them at Hillenbrand, and I'd be super happy, albeit rather surprised, if the Kitties turn things around by this weekend.

Stranger things have happened.

FSU making the jump from 11 to 8 is really surprising to me.

I just don't see any -- reasonable -- path out of the Top 8 for UF.

Maybe if they were swept by Florida and took four more losses in SEC, and then a first-round loss in the SEC tourney.

But I still don't see it.

Preseason polls are a bit off in the Big West. Usually are. If CSUF wins it. which I doubt they will then they should get 2 berths. But I think LBSU is too strong and will be the only berth. unfortunately with the ACC and B1G being really down this year.

Looks like those last two regional host spots will be a battle between Baylor, Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky and Mississippi State?  Anyone else with a shot?  Really pulling for Long Beach State...

I think Long Beach State has an outside shot. As of now I would put them above Mississippi State in that group. I would throw Michigan in that mix as well all be it behind Baylor, Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Long Beach State.

Oregon State, with Mariah Maizon surging, is a factor IMO.

In the past 2 1/2 weeks, Maizon:

She threw 22 innings in a 28-hour span against ASU, with a 1.27 ERA

She allowed 2 ER to in 10 2/3 IP vs. UCLA (1.31 ERA)

She held Oregon to 1 run in a game that went to extra innings, where DJ Sanders hit a grand slam

This kid has a high ceiling and IMO is MUCH better than her numbers indicate

I'd like to see LB get one too. but I think they are too close to UCLA and you have Oregon and Washington up north. Most of D1 softball is west of Denver so that means the more hosts west the more teams have to travel from the East. NCAA has limits for travel for the most part in regionals.
