I wasn’t super thrilled to see the first set of photos uploaded yesterday by TexasSoftball were the transfers. I get it, they’re big gets, but what a slap in the face to the efforts of the kids who didn’t just chase a coach and were Longhorns long before them.

But, to their credit, there has been plenty of the “true Longhorns” since and a few stories as well.

I guess my biggest thing moving forward is I just want Texas (and Mike White) to focus on the product on the field and not Oregon. I’m sure they are, but there’s a microscope over everything they do for the first year at least.

The worst photo I have seen is on the Michigan softball page.  A crucial out of the batters box call ended Michigan's season against ND, and yet a photo of a Michigan batter (against ND) "out of the box" is prominently displayed on the page.

Sorry for the change of subject.

I'm also ok with you trying to irritate me, I enjoy it when people think they are important enough to get under my skin. But understand this, the name of these teams is not a matter of opinion, it's a fact. The name is Louisiana, the abbreviation is LA. You can use whatever you want. I will continue to correct you when you are wrong. Have a blessed day.

Believe it or not, but most of my softball conversations are not on this board.  I've never once heard someone call it Louisiana except for on this board.  I'd never even heard of this whole controversy until I got here.  And this goes beyond softball.  ULL comes up in football discussions, too, and it's ULL, nothing else.

I do know one player currently on the team and another committed to the program, so I'm guessing they and their parents will (eventually) make the distinction.  I can guarantee you they did not before they committed.  I'll see one of them tonight.  I'm going to make it a point of asking, although I would expect them to say Louisiana.  My daughter's old HS/travel coach is friends with Glasco, too.  He (the coach, not Glasco) has never called them Louisiana in the many discussions I've had with him, going back to Lotief.

I'm not trying to irritate anyone.  I'm just explaining why I have no interest in being corrected when the correction means nothing to me.  You know exactly what school I'm referring to when I say ULL.  I use it as a matter of course, not to spite anyone.  I literally have no dog in this fight, I'm just using the familiar name.

By my count G Juarez went 3-1 against Washington and UCLA last season, with three shutouts. The loss was 2-1 to the Bruins in nine innings.

Ace material, with Saile, Lopez, Vestal behind her. Liking the Sooners' chances of getting the Knighten-Clifton-Romero-Aviu cohort a third NC in four years.

I honestly didn't notice.  When I viewed twitter yesterday, I was viewing from most recent to least recent.

And, if you are talking about the website, I didn't really look there.  I doubt photos separated by a seconds or minutes of being posted was a slap in the face to anyone.

Have to disagree on ISU's pitching.  Inconsistency in the circle is a major reason for ISU's struggles and my DD is as guilty as anyone.  Even so pitching will be improved over last year.  We lost a senior, but added a freshman that can step in right away and another freshman and a sophomore transfer that hopefully can contribute.

Stoking the Oklahoma-Texas softball rivalry:

"Four Natty" Patty can throw Juarez as her No. 1 against The Kiwi's Elish in the Friday-Sunday games and Saile-Lopez-Vestal in the Saturday game against who, Bolinger? How's that series shake out?

Kyla Walker is redshirting this season for Baylor due to injury. There are a few other injuries that two other starters are dealing with right now as well that may require them to redshirt. Could be a big down year for Baylor.

I just think that -- on a whole -- it is going to be a bit of a down year all around.

Pac is down from last year, so is SEC. Big 12 is up, but Kyla Walker out is a big deal

It is certainly  within the realm of possibility.

But how much would you be willing to wager on Texas finishing ahead of Oklahoma..?

And 1-2 against OR with 12 ER in 20 IP, including 10 in one game. I agree that Juarez is ace material but I'd be holding off on clearing off a shelf for that NC trophy just yet. Maybe play some games first.

Atleast we have to clear off the shelf for a trophey. Unlike some that don’t even have a shelf.

Point taken, though somehow I doubt Oregon is going to be in the picture this time around. I do expect UCLA and UW will be there, and I like Juarez's play against those two. Yeah, let the games begin.
