Hate this for Rodoni. She works hard to be the best pitcher she can be. At times she's looked like one of the best in the country. Baylor will miss her.

That's never bothered me.  I have plenty of A&M friends who use that reference, and it just slides off my back.  But, if you are gonna use it like A&M fans do, it's "tu", not "TU".

It's not used to aggravate, belittle or misidentify.  Univ of Louisiana Lafayette is the name per the legislative authority.  It is not the University of Louisiana or a stand alone Louisiana.

Legislation passed in 1995 allowed the universities then-known as the University of Southwestern Louisiana and the Northeast Louisiana University to change their names to UL-Lafayette and UL-Monroe. The changes were made in 1999.

UL policy also mandates any reference to either school's abbreviated name, however, requires the use of the "municipal location of the institution" -- either Lafayette or Monroe. Neither school can claim the use of "UL."

Over the past 5 years TU has been a better program than UT.

Baylor started the season with a big win over #9 South Carolina. They experimented a little more with the lineup in game 2 and dropped it 4-3 to BYU. Baylor will definitely be pitching by committee this season and won’t have a true ace.

With the loss of Rodoni and Walker it will be interesting to see who steps in to fill those spots. It will be hard. Thankfully for Baylor, it looks like both will return for 2020 which will pose another question. With giving the current freshman and transfer pitcher a year under them, how good will they be once Rodoni and Walker return? From the looks of the roster, they'll only be losing Green this year.

Considering Baylor finishes 2nd virtually every year recently, that seems like a totally reasonable vote by Gasso.

I'd argue Oklahoma St. could remotely play softball. They took Florida to 3rd game in a regional a few years ago. They've had talent just need more pitching.

You're partially correct, but as I've said numerous times in the past this is a message board and you can (and will) call any university what you want to call them. I'm more concerned about the national media agreeing with our branding efforts, which they are.

https://www.louisiana.edu/about-us/media/proper-use-universitys-name

Proper Use of the University's Name

University of Louisiana at Lafayette® has been the formal and official name of the University since 1999. Please use it in first reference to the University in text. UL Lafayette may be used as an abbreviation to refer to the academic institution when clarification is necessary.

Name: University of Louisiana at Lafayette®
Academic Abbreviation: UL Lafayette
Athletics Nickname: Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns®
Athletics Shortened Names: Louisiana, Ragin' Cajuns, and Cajuns
Athletics Abbreviation: LA (for score/stats listings only)

Athletics Nickname

Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns® is the nickname of the University’s athletic teams. Teams also may be referred to as Louisiana, Ragin' Cajuns, or Cajuns. In most cases, Ragin’ Cajuns plural is proper, though Ragin’ Cajun in the singular form can apply.

Registration Marks

Please include a registered symbol (®) as a subscript for the first reference of the terms University of Louisiana at Lafayette® and Ragin’ Cajuns® in text. The registered symbol must appear in every use of the logos.

Logos and Name Use

All uses of the University’s name, department names, nicknames, logos and visual marks (including the Ragin' Cajuns® family of marks) or any likenesses, including but not limited to advertising, stationery, websites, cobranding, facilities or apparel, must be approved by the Office of Communications and Marketing.

Internal uses of the University's name for academic or educational purposes, such as syllabi or course materials, do not need to be approved by Communications and Marketing.

Inaccurate References

  • Do not refer to the University as UL-Lafayette or ULL in any instance.
  • Do not use the terms Lafayette or U of L, as they denote other institutions.

Surprising loss from Ok State today, dropping a 7-4 game to Illinois. Really thought Samantha Show might get the first game on the mound, people around the program have been raving about her all off-season.

Geez.  What was Kansas thinking scheduling itself into a mini PAC 12 conference tournament to start out the 2019 season.
