Was at the Mercer tournament this past weekend and all four teams were 2-2 going into the final day.  Rutgers had an impressive weekend with 13 homers.

Northwestern was down to Louisville 8-3 going into the top of the 7th, and then they decided to start playing softball. They scored 5 runs in the top of the 7th to force extras and ended up winning 9-8 in 9 innings.

So... is Indiana going to win the Big 10 this year? Rooting for them. Great team and great coaching.

They're a fun team to watch - really aggressive on the bases. And Trainer is a fantastic pitcher. I think it'll come down to them and Minnesota.

They're supposed to be decent - like top 25 but not going to host a regional. But they always seem to underperform. Beaubien hasn't looked great so far, and if she can't pull it together, it's going to be a rough year for Michigan.

I had them on the bubble to host preseason and from the rankings, many national polls thought (too) highly of them as well. But they've started 4-4 including Beaubien getting handled by UNC. Probably wind up in the Seattle regional again [frown]

MI getting the "Legacy" ranking.

What I love about Beabian is, while she is ALL MI has got, she knows, how she goes, the team goes and pitches her a$$ off every game knowing she will get beat up some times for lack of offensive support.

Pitt and Louisville were two softball programs that were really hurt by the late hiring process. I feel for both programs.
