This is by far the best world series ever!! The right teams are there. Every team in the series has true heart and are fierce competitors. This World Series will do more for the growth of this sport than anything in the past. Nice job by all teams, players, and coaches. At this point, anyone left can win it!

This is fine but for my money it was 2003 with UCLA and Cal coming out of the loser's bracket to beat Texas and Arizona twice on Sunday.

Seems like its been great competition between a few teams with the overall competition not as strong as in years past (Mizzou and AZ seemed to be be an after thought)

Ohhhhhh so you mean Jen Schroeders comment

"the world series is so much cooler when ucla is there."

isn't true?
ha.

DEFINITELY NOT.

This has been a tremendous world series. Shows the parity in the game. Love it.

It has been an outstanding World Series so far.  Great tough games, unbelievable hitting, pitchers getting out of jams, terrific defensive plays, and the pace of the game, even the LONG ones, is fun.  Great group of teams with lots of talent and parity.  Makes for more interesting softball.  There have been some tough errors -- both physical and mental, but the thing I like, is how the teams keep fighting back.

Dude.....if you are trying to make a joke...use your own punch line...and not at the expense of someone else??

I am sure your friend  (if she is a good friend of this Jen Schroeders) would appreciate you calling out her good friend??

I would say best ever also - very unpredictable.

One could say the two teams everyone thought would be there at the end are there, but it certainly was no cakewalk!

This can only be good for the game.

so maybe the NCAA got it right with all their initial 64 team seedings....and locations......i have the biggest respect for washington. not many teams, if any, could have been on the road for three weeks in this quest....WHILE SCHOOL IS IN SESSION....and kept their focus so well.

i am a husky fan.
(unless they are playing bama!)

Yes, the best ever... tied with 2008, 2007, 2006, (not 2005 cuz.. well, it didn't end right), etc. etc.

As with last year, I was able to record and watch every game... and HIGH DEF ESPN is awesome!!!  Nothing like seeing the individual seems on the ball and the individual loose hairs blowing about.  Our plasma flat screen TV has a ZOOM feature, so I can zoom in on the pitcher/catcher/batter almost filling up 52" of closeup realism (cuts off the score/balls/strikes banner, but I can keep track of that on my own) ...  HIGH DEF will make so many sports SOOOOO much more interesting to watch... even hockey -- in high def you can actually see the puck

leading up to the championships series, i would've agreed this was the best WCWS so far. but that championship series was a miserable failure because of all of the errors. i prefer the arizona vs. tennessee championship series because at least arizona had to get hits to win the series.

Teams were definitely tired but I wouldn't go as far as saying it was a failure!!

Umpires added that WWF (or whatever pro wrestling is called these days) flair to the game ( kept the fans wondering what hurddle they would kick in front of the ladies next ) !!! One change I would like to see is the Blues dressed in Black Capes next year!!!

Pretty harsh.  I do think the fact that both teams had to fight pretty hard to get to the finals may have taken its toll.  Ali G's walkoff on Sunday was clearly the emotional climax of the week for the Gators. UW couldn't help but to be worn down from their sojourner.  I think what we got in the last two games was similar to what often happens on travel ball Sundays.  Two teams pretty much 'running on fumes' with the more experienced team (I give the Huskies the edge because of the olympic experience) winning.

jayrot, you're just bummed cuz neither UCLA nor your beloved Bama made the finals....  next year is a new opportunity.

no I'm bummed because really only one team showed up to play the finals.  wish it had been more of a game between the two.

hey, but at least it wasn't as bad as the northwestern vs. arizona series.

There were some wonderful moments and dramatic home runs but I didn't feel the entire level of play was as high as some past years.

I thought last night's game was incredibly exciting~even with all the mistakes. My children couldn't wait to get home from their practices to watch it. They think it is very fun to watch (and one of my children is a 13 year old boy!).

I personally don't look at them that way (Hopefully your MUCH YOUNGER then I am) but I could see where a 13 year old boy's interest might be peaked!!!

That was a very good one, but 2004 was my favorite for personal reasons ...

Sua with the seeya and bat toss. Classic.

My neighbor looking up at the umpire saying, "What do you mean I'm obstructing the plate?", as she's sprawled on top of it. Well, I think that's what she said.

A tough loss then, now good stories of days gone by.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
