Michigan beat Georgia St 8-0 on a 6 inning no hitter by Meghan Beaubien. Gave up 1 BB and 1 HBP and 11 Ks.Canfield ends it with a 3 run HR. MIchigan beat UAB earlier in the day 7-0 with Blanco going 6 innings and Beaubien 1.

I am only listening on the radio broadcast, but based on their descriptions, she sounds like Delaney Gourely - good change of speed, hard to hit, small stature, LH.  It sounds like UM has found a good one!  She sure gave UF fits - and a freshman too!  I was rather surprised.  With Betsa gone, I was thinking - who's gonna pitch this year?  Now I know.

Is her name pronounced Bo-Bean? Or Bo-Bien as in muy bien. Been driving me crazy. [confused][rolleyes]

But yes, exciting for Michigan. I enjoy watching them succeed when they're not playing the Gators.

She's not small, goes 5-8 or better. She didn't get as much attention her other Bandits program pitcher, Holloway/Notre Dame got before college but she looks to be off to a much better start against better teams. They're both freshman so the ups and downs will come but those are two worth watching.

Beaubien listed at 5' 8" at the UM site.

I had never seen her pitch before. I saw Holloway and always thought she was going to struggle against decent d1-level hitting (which she has, at least so far).

Beaubien has been really good so far. If that continues, I think MI could be better than a lot of people thought.

Will get to see them head to head next week at ACC/Big10 Challenge. Guessing Holloway gets 1 of the Michigan games and 1 of the games vs Minnesota. MB should get 1 vs Notre Dame and 1 vs FSU.

Those two are two of the absolute best people you could ever meet! Wishing both the greatest of success in theor careers!

Ye, Holloway arrived with high expectations @ ND. And no doubt will be just fine I think. I posted previously I thought Holloway would have a better chance in the ACC only because it is a top heavy conference. While mildly surprised at her current stats, you gotta remember she's a freshman facing older, stronger, more mature batters and, they will beat her many more times than not. The ACC/Big Ten Challenge next wkd will give both good opportunities. Looking very forward to following both Freshman all season.

Usf doesn't seem to have an ace. So the fact that Michigan lost to usf is very shocking to me.

As shocking as Florida's loss Maryland last year?

Just wanted to see how easily shocked you are. Michigan didn't pitch their ace in the usf game either, but every pitcher for Florida last year was an ace.

My favorite tweets from this morning’s 6-0 win over Notre Dame:
@umichsoftball
T5| Beaubien only takes NINE PITCHES to send the Wolverine offense back to the field.
T5| As the temperature heats up, so does Beaubien, as the freshman starts to get into a groove, going 1-2-3 on all strikeouts!

I take the Maryland game back. That was a stunner but I will place Uga walking off vs the two time defending champions on top of any list.

If you’re name is Meghan and you wanna be a pitcher, go to Michigan they have a thing for stud pitchers named Meghan.

I guess Minnesota's run at the top of the Big 10 is going to be very short lived.  My goodness was THAT fun to watch!!
