Love it - just like the "rant" that Jeff Walz went on last year!

So the speech is great and definitely what makes him a great coach.  My question is I wonder how he would view a Lonzo Ball/LaVar Ball situation.

from all i have heard, lavar has been like this for a while. and while he runs his mouth, teammates love lonzo. how could you not when he is an assist machine?

Geno wasn't selfish in doling out blame for that loss. He parked those players right under the bus.

Don't understand your thinking. He simply stated maybe they weren't mature enough or ready for that stage yet. Thought it was a pretty accurate statement. He was also very gracious and complimentitive to Miss St. Don't really feel he put anyone under the bus.

The original speech is a must watch for players and parents, BUT it is also a must watch for COACHES!!! If coaches would stop recruiting kids that act like this regardless of talent, then the rest of us (who are charged with preparing them) might make some headway. Right now, when coaches (before college) try to correct or talk to a kid who acts like this, we just get labeled a "hater" because someone is going to recruit or pay them anyway.

He said players missed shots, some players had their worst game of the year, players weren't ready for the stage. UCONN going way too early with a tie game gave MSU a chance to have the game winning shot and was an egregious error that should never happen coming out of a timeout. That's on coaching but he didn't point any finger back at himself.
Also not being ready for the stage is kind of a cop out. Dangerfield was the only one playing  that didn't get major minutes on last year's title team and everyone on MSU's team was completely new to that stage.
