I am very excited about Gerry joining Mickey's staff. This is his 3rd SEC stop. I am wondering exactly why he is leaving College Station for Auburn? Last time, it was pretty clear that the Glasco family and Coach Lu relationship had run its course at UGA. Anyone have any insights about Gerry's time in College Station with Coach Evans?

Helluva get for Auburn. I thought Gerry might have an outside shot at the head coaching job if some of the top candidates said no. Auburn hitting should take off again.

Holy cow is right.  If that is not a power move, then I don't know what is!  Look out SEC...seriously.  Two powerful men coaches, I LOVE it!

Coach Glasco has nothing but nice things to say about Lu.  There were other factors that forced his hand at Georgia an d not my place to throw out there in public.  I spoke with him this past winter and he was enjoying his time in College Station. Don't forget that Coach Glasco had a daughter play in that program and he felt close to that program due to that. My guess is that he is building a resume that will enable him to get a head coaching position sooner than later at specific schools he in interested in.

I think Auburn is doing a great job of pouring back into this program at a much needed time. Two incredible hires

hehe bang that drum, sister. But seriously, nice job by the Auburn athletic department on these hires, they are trying hard to air out the stench that the myers clan left on the program.

Nope.  Staying at JMU as Assistant to LaPorte.   Heard that Dean asked LaPorte to go with him and she declined.   Husband has a good job there at JMU.

Poor dude is striking out more at these head coaching gigs than anyone would've expected.
Who is changing jobs more:  Morgan or Glasco?

Just make sure he keeps Tara away from the program, and make sure he has no say in the pitching recruits/process.

Was she a volunteer at LSU for a bit? It said in the article that she was at LSU briefly before joining Auburn.

Her contract was not renewed after the 2017 season, I believe she was there 6 seasons.

0-2 with a 8.40 ERA at PGF... Flosoftball puts another way, way, too high.

They rode her like a pack horse. The kid can pitch. We saw her for the third game of the day and she was tired. Don't let an era sway you when it can be misleading. How they use that kid is child abuse.

Had a little 5 inning scrimmage last night.  Team with Victoria Draper and Alyssa Rivera won handily as Draper was 4-4 with 2 RBI and Rivera drove in 3 runs.  All 5 pitchers got work.  Chardonnay showed some excellent velocity and movement as a lefty and Kendall Veach had a 2 run HR.

Weather permitting, there will be a formal intrasquad scrimmage Saturday at 5:30.   We've got some weather headed our way Sunday, so if you're on the Gulf Coast, look out, it's getting a good bit stronger this evening.  Wake up early and have an evacuation/shelter plan if it continues to grow stronger tonight.

Games this weekend (10/20 and 10/21)

Friday: Chipola CC 3:30p  //  Wallace State CC-Hanceville 5:30p

Saturday: Valdosta State 3:30p //  Snead State 5:30p

Had another intrasquad today.  Freshman pitchers continue to impress.  Snow sisters will definitely be a factor.  Taryn at leadoff is a good possibility.
