She had posted on Facebook that she was giving up coaching to focus on her playing career and went on to talk about giving lessons. Good kid.

One, or possible two, openings at UIC. Any word on these?

I am hoping that Troy will bring in a real pitching coach.  I heard through the grapevine that it will be a former player that only graduated a few years ago.  However, at least she was a pitcher.  It is kind of unusual for an assistant to transfer to a conference foe.

He posted on Facebook that he was retiring from coaching to get into public speaking to be able to spend more time with his family.  Loved Jamie and what she was trying to do at ISU but felt at the end of the day we're measured more by what we do as husbands and fathers then we are as coaches.

Randy is a great friend and mentor and will be a FANTASTIC public speaker.

Not point I was making.

I wouldn't stay long in ANY of his previous gigs either.

I am hoping Coach Lisle can bring some solid hitting to SC. We have improved over the years, but we do need more consistency. Hopefully he can provide that. Will be sad to see Coach Beamon go. He is a good man, and was a good coach.

Don't know . He hasn't tweeted anything for about a month . The story I heard on Calvin was that he got into a heated argument with one of the other coaches in front of the team - don't know if it was in practice or during a game , but he was gone from the team after that . Don't know if it was a " last straw " situation or what, or if there was some other factors involved .

As far as Coach Lisle moving around a lot , I noticed in the article that he has a wife and 5 kids . He may be looking for a little more stability . Coach Beamon's base salary on the state employees salary database was listed at $75,000 per year . If Lisle starts out anywhere close to that it's pretty good for an assistant coach in softball . And I would imagine he will still have some income from clinics and private instruction .

Congrats Randy from Iowa State on a great college career. Look forward to his speaking engagements! Any word on replacement? Any hire as of yet for Hawkeyes?
