I know their is already a thread for the changing of head coaches but with all the moves being made over the off-season I am sure assistant coaches will change and shift as well.

Post any adding, leaving, or switching of programs for any asst coach & even asst coaches to head coaches anything!

I heard UCF looking for an assistant. Coach Corrie Hill no longer on the website after 1 year at the school. Anyone know what happened?

Anyone know what's going on with South Carolina assistant Calvin Beamon ? He seemed to disappear from the team around mid-season . One source told me he had to take some time off to attend to some personal matters . Another source told me he had been fired . He is still listed as one of the coaches on their web site .

What is going on at Duke? Still have not hired assistance after losing both within the last couple months.  Have heard from various sources and the travel ball rumor mill (take it for what it is worth) that all that sparkles is not gold.

Great question. What kind of rumors you hearing "on the street?"

Nothing specific really.  Just gathering that Coach Young might be struggling to manage the job of head coach and all it involves.  Sounds like maybe some early violations to go along with the growing pains. I do not know much about the program personally just have a couple buddies that stay in the loop.

Violations? Wonder what that entails..maybe being too aggressive on the recruiting front, ruffled some feathers of some of the 'old timers'.

Personally, if it was my coach to be, I'd want her out there doing everything she could. Walk the line but be careful not to get nicked if you step over. New team, challenge of getting kids admitted, and all the other stuff she's trying to manage, gotta be stressful. I'm sure she'll learn the tricks of the trade sooner than later.

It's still a head scratcher why Kantor left.

Young is coaching a travel ball team...er...her husband is the official coach.  It's their kid's team, just wondering if that is setting off alarms.

Maybe Kantor did not like the way things were being run at Duke; who knows. Hell, maybe she is heading back to her Alma Mater to coach. Guess we will never really know.

Jake Schumann. He's no longer listed on coaches page.

Sounds plausible, she did play for Morales while she was an Assist Coach there. Sounds like a leap of faith to quit her Duke job long before anything was clear about the Ga Tech position. Then again, Morales would have known well beforehand if the opening was most likely going to be hers. Meeting with GT officials while still in her capacity at Radford, she certainly would've reached out to Kantor about her coming on board.

It is also possible Kantor, Young's 1st Assist. hired, felt her position undermined when Young brought in her Father.

All in all, getting Ga Tech back to relevance, the new program at Clemson, new program at Duke is good for the ACC

Jesus... daddy ball in the ACC? (I know, I know not in the 14U travel ball definition of that term, but still, such an impactful phrase)

Did anyone there look toward CoMo?

All that could be true; guess time will tell if she pops up on GT site.  I think you hit the nail on the head about her Father(Volunteer Coach). He can be a piece of work, from what I hear.  Hope she can rein him in so she can keep her paid assistants around when she hires them.

On another note, I am excited to see what happens at Clemson.  Heard they are having a heard time securing the approval to build the new stadium.  Until that is cleared up they are at a stand still.  Heard they are just collecting names for now.

I saw that too.  Her Dad was one heck of a travel ball coach.  Surprised by all the other coaches leaving or being fired.  She really hyped her staff when she put it in place.

Must have the complete backing of the AD and admin to allow her father to be a volunteer coach.  This may be a first in NCAA softball? [confused]

So travel ball coaches can't coach on the college level? It would seem there would be at least some experimental laboratories out there to challenge the usual suspects. There's a ton of P5 schools and others who could afford better coaching and not be harmed monetary wise. I would think that we have learned from pro sports that when you recycle crap you get crap. Take a chance, some of you can't suck any harder.

I think someone should send some (most) of the D1 athletic directors the memo...

Anyone who thinks that there is some secret, hidden cache of amazing coaches out there, who somehow aren't getting opportunities at the college level, isn't doing a very good job of thinking.
