We all make mistakes, she will be fine.  Thirty years ago if you got arrested it wasn't posted for the world to see, and you weren't subject to the opinions of anonymous internet Dr. Phils.  Mods should delete this thread, nothing good can come out of it.

She is from a famous softball family with a huge softball legacy so anything that she does will get publicity. Good or bad. Plus I hate to say this but there is a history of bad incidents involving the sisters.

Yes we all make mistakes but eventually there has to be a limit on them!

Famous? Legacy?

Not for what any sane athlete would want to be remembered for.

Wouldn’t know as I, as well as most others, have never been arrested. Pretty simple way to avoid scrutiny.
accountability can be a real beetch.

It all about putting yourself in someone else's shoes, and not being a bully.  Lifting people up instead of dragging them down, also known as maturity.

Taking the high road is 'mature'. And appreciated.

At what point does this consistent pattern of behavior confirm pure stupidity? Maybe penance is due...

I would agree with you if this was the first time...but it isn't. This is a pattern for her and if something doesn't change, she's not going to be fine. She isn't a teenager anymore, she is 24 years old and evidently expecting a baby. It's time for her to grow up.

And for the record before there was internet there was this thing called a newspaper and arrests were often printed in those too and if you think people didn't gossip about it, you're naive . It's not a new thing, the only thing different is where it's being posted.

She probably just forgot to high five the security guard on the way out.

I think I read enough of this story and the comments. I just want to say that until you've lived in someone else's shoes you have no idea what their "story" is. Perhaps she's dealing with addiction or other mental health issues - if that's the case I hope she gets the health care needed, along with counselling and is able to put her life back together and become a productive member of society and a great mother. No one asked me to be judge and jury so I will not. Empathy shows character so I'll work on that.

Well, as it happened, the shoes rang up at 10 cents a pair.

Coming from "Free Shoes University," the irony of this comment is simply delicious.  [rofl]

Even if this smalltime crime was in the Orlando Sentinel, Gainesville Sun, and Miami Herald that news would've been far less accessible all around the world without the internet.  Also it'll live on through those blackmailing mugshot websites.

Perhaps it's not too late to convert her. I hear scholarships are available at the University of Satan.
