Statman, worst BA of starters, doesn't play field or pitch. Digressed from her Freshman year. Couple talented transfers, I'm thinking she's expendable. It's all guessing though. You'll know less than 2 weeks.

Section11,

Kean at leadoff is possible, but I can't remember the last time Candrea led the batting order with a Freshman without DI experience.

Kean did bat leadoff for all the fall games and did well.  Her and Hughes may flip spots in the order.  I believe Lastrapes and/or Schutzler hit leadoff in 2008 and possibly Wilson in 2012.

The only question marks are Martinez and whoever plays 1B.  The other 7 spots are solid. Carranco and Hughes/Kean will be just fine at the bottom.

I agree.  I was super excited about Statman after her frosh season, but she did not improve her game last year.

T is listed as Pitcher/DH on this year's roster.

M. Martinez may be a stud. We'll see, but she played behind the Mauga shadow during her freshman year. Talk out of SoCal was she hat a great bat (if I'm not mixing her up with another player).

Sure she can. But seems I remember she was the Queen of self promotion coming into AZ. Maybe bt time she live up to her own hype.

Listed as a pitcher but never thrown a single inning. Has she ever even played the field? Because she shows zero 'put outs' on her stat line.

And who's her Rabbi?

I recall from the rumor mill that was her dad talking her up.

She was originally listed as a position player/pitcher.

While she has had some clutch hits in the past, her glove evidently has not been good enough.

She sure did. She hit 1 for 10 with 1 BB, 2 Ks, and 8 LOB.
