Looking forward to seeing revamped Rita next season! Hope mike figures out how to get his batters up to where they need to be or hire a new hitting coach! Go cats!

Well that’s not shocking I guess from the pictures I saw of the revamp. Might be worth season tix to stay in the shade

That is the sad part.
A elite program , with big name and big $$ alumni , is going to , after 25 years , spend 2 million to make their stadium
look half as nice as most of the stadiums in the Big 10 and Big 12.

have you seen the proposed updates? Rita is going to look great. And the new facility they are putting in where (I think - could be wrong) the old baseball stadium was looks LEGIT

$8 million, and why not wait until you see the finished product to assume it will only look half as nice?

The fact of the matter is is that tides turn and due to the success of the original gauntlets, other programs rise up, and then as a whole, the sport becomes better.

Anyone in the know re: the Tucson high school softball stars . . . . . what're the chances of Kristiana Watson coming to AZ?
EDIT: Just saw an article where it said she has already committed to a PAC school, but has chosen not to make public the name yet...

Scupino said she is the 2020 Cats shortstop.

She's a big kid. Good eyes. Hits with power. Very nice young lady. Multi-sport athlete. Pretty good footwork, probably needs to increase running speed (unless she hits more and more dingers). Pretty good glove.

It will look very nice and admittedly I pick on U of A and ASU, just surprised that these 2 huge  elite programs don't have as nice stadiums as some same size and smaller programs
in other conferences. Good for the Cats , the players and fans certainly deserve it.
I guess now we can pick on UCLA.

As with most 7th and 8th grade commits, I like to look two and three years later to see how they progess and how they perform at PGF Nationals when they face good pitchers every day.   In the case of Koutso, I don't see that she has ever hit above .900 OPS at PGF, so what do you mean by "she will surpise Arizona fans" ... in a postive or negative way?   Will Candrea honor his acceptance of her verbal if she fails to develop?  He has six verbals for 2020 and just eight full scholarships to divide among four incoming classes.   Will some of those 2020 commits end up at 25% scholarship or zero dollars but "you can still be on the roster"?

let's revisit this topic on signing day 2019 and find out which of the six went PFT into thin air as Candrea cut his losses by offering zero dollars.   Would love to see that presser.

Scup, Dunnin brings up a good point, worth a discussion. If GK has not developed (Definitely a concern when you're committing 7th graders, 8th graders...) it will be interesting to see what MC might decide to do.

I'm wondering why Jenny Dalton-Hill's kid, Brookelyn, committed to BYU and not Az?  I'm guessing they are mormon and/or was Az even interested in her?  Is she good or on Flo rankings?

Also, it would be nice if the Watson kid came and AND became a stud for Az.  Is Elish's sister any good?  She is not ranked on Flo after checking.

Zona just posted an article about her. Dressed her up in a Cats uni and snapped her on the mall.

I'm hoping Az coaches and fans will stop resting on Az softball's very old laurels and start pounding the zone, the box and the defense so we can get back to wcws.

Lol.

From your mouth to God's ears. It sucks not seeing my Cats in the WS. 11 years since the last natty.... ugh...We need that passion, that fire, that determination to WIN that has been missing for a few years now[frown]

So, same grade as Madi Elish? Has anyone seen her pitch ? Thoughts?

Hillenbrand progress video.  Thank God it won't be a bandbox anymore like 3lt says over and over and over and over, ad nauseum!!  I also read that Sierra and Sydney Romero's brother committed to play baseball at Az...too bad the sisters went elsewhere.  Lol.

I don't think so, as that field really is landlocked, especially beyond right field.  I have always thought they need room to expand the whole outfield to have bleachers or even the whole roundabout stadium like Florida appears to be doing.  You gotta realize, Hillenbrand was one of the very first stadiums out there!
