Think Arizona deserves a subject line. I've really enjoyed the games this year. Hoping for #9 National Championship in June.

Why the hell did ZTE delete the existing one. what a douche!  I'm TOTALLY stoked about the Cats this year...they are major ballers.

If they remain with that internal tunnel vision one goal, number 9 is theirs for the taking.  And those freshman have definitely lit a fire in the program!!!!!

This is a brand-new thread after the nutbag deleted the lead post on the old one, deleting the entire thread

I'm definitely hoping for a deep run this year. This group seems to have the work ethic and drive that can overcome the drought that has ensued since 2010.

Thanks Beardown for getting this site up again.  Too bad our latest Jesse Wildcat equivalent, ZTE, decided to delete the thread because we called him out.  He can call people names and cut down players but goes and hides when called out.  He deserves and will receive no respect.

Hopefully many of the interesting comments that were deleted will find their way back in.

I agree this is the strongest team we have had in years.  Talent at every position and depth behind it.  And they show the spirit to fight back when needed.  The capability to go all the way is there if not messed up.  Go Cats!

Precisely what's been missing all these years, and the Oklahoma game was a turning point in finding that fight back!

Top teams find ways to win, for sure. Maybe we'll get a rematch somewhere down the road. Boomer!

Let's hope it is a best of three rematch at the finals of the WCWS.

Going to be a tough weekend for the Utes coming up.  Hope they can get all three games in, and though I won't be rooting for them, I get to see this powerful AZ team in person.

Rah, I agree with you there...top teams find ways to win, even when its not a pretty finish.  That is a thought I have to tell an avid FSU fan who also belongs to the Wildcat FB page.  It's how Ucla beat Oregon the 2nd game...making things happen somehow.  He keeps majorly crying about how his Florida State girl's rpi keeps dropping and that Ucla is in no way a top ten, much less top 5 team.  Lol.

The Sooners have been Az's nemesis for some time now (even though we beat them in 2015 it didn't really count imo), and I KNEW, could feel it in my gut, that that win @LBSU this year turned a corner for those girls.[smile]

I will be at the wcws Rah, hope to see you there!

It sucks that Utah has had 2 conference games cancelled this season, that has not really happened before?  I love what Amy Hogue, and the whole sports program for that matter, have done at Utah!  Best thing they ever did was join the Pac!

Thanks for the post. Arizona is totally deserving of this season's ranking and the late victory over my Sooners. OU certainly benefited from all kinds of breaks on the way to the NC last year. It doesn't matter whether they're pretty. Carasone's blunder in Game 3 of the WCWS last season was an incredible gift in what would be a 2-1 victory.

Arizona-Oklahoma would be a terrific matchup, in an SR or at WCWS. Planning to be in OKC again this year. If OU doesn't make it, maybe I'll be available for rental as a Cats fan!

Oh yes, you could literally feel the momentum shift when Carosone blundered!

But I thought the Utes would have a tough time in Easton Stadium, and they cleaned the Bruins.

Outstanding Utes program now. Three years ago I told my daughter, Utes are getting a new/upgraded field and have good coaching and recruiting that will make them a PAC 12 force very soon. And now the Utes are indeed a force.

I'm holding my breath Thursday through Saturday...

Tough series begins today in a stadium where it is much harder to hit the home run.  Should be fun and interesting.

Super excited to watch it!  Florida St went down last night to Florida 1-0 bottom 7, so now I think we are the lone 1 loss team left in the country.

That game surprised me. Utah's bats were sad last night, Arizona did the same tonight.

Interestingly enough, both teams had the same number of hits.

I only saw the first, sixth and seventh innings so I missed most of Utah's runs and didn't see McQuillin's difficulties.

Last night Donovan did what she seems to do sometimes, pitch very well and then lose focus.  Maybe both sides had that issue in this series so far.

I was waiting for this to happen...Palomino strikes out a lot...McQuillin got pounded...Az waited too long to adjust.  While now is the time to lose, Az needs to come out and demolish the Utes right off the bat.  No mercy if the Cats want to win number 9 because Florida is definitely the team to beat, and they have zero mercy.

So, Cats sucked today? No biggie if they can turn it around for tomorrow and next week.

Yep, not their day.  Like Janiedough I too was afraid this might happen, especially late this season. Some flaws we knew were there have been exposed.  Hopefully we learn and Mike makes changes.

I was happy to see more slapping and small ball earlier in this series.  Hughes is definitely now a legitimate slapper.  Perez can slap and hit she is truly impressive.  Mo impressive likewise.  I was happy that Toolie was not warming up in game two.  She will definitely need to pitch until her arm falls off post season.  A new number two pitcher or pitch by committee for the few innings left still needs to be figured out.  Floyd might be a short inning closer.  A little shaky at her start but then got mowing in her second inning facing the same batters that ate the starting pitcher for lunch.

We need that how can you even think we are not going to beat you attitude back today.  Utah will be ready to fight.

I bet Florida will move into the number 1 ranking position this week, assuming they win today.

And I would bet Palomino will respond with a home run or two soon, just let her get out of Utah.

Yep...that attitude can, does and will cover many flaws!  The collective internal belief in one goal has to be there all the time!

Perez is ridiculously awesome, Mercado too, and I LOVE how Hughes has skyrocketed her game from freshman to this season!

Is it just me or does it look like Floyd's drive off the rubber has changed and her pitch speed slower than prior years?  I hope coach sees that short relief stoppers are definitely necessary, and I hope Floyd can fill that role!

I thought Tooley looked sick on Thursday?  Her face looked worn out, hope she's ok and ready to roll. She was not as sharp as normal.

Today's response is ultra important moving forward.!  Bear Down!
